I've had
a Blackout custom for a while and liked it just fine, but when I started my Plague project, I was pretty sure I'd be revisiting the character.
Here's how that turned out:

Blackout was a rookie Joe on his first big mission with Low-Light behind enemy lines when he made the mistake of leaving the cap off his sight after taking out a sentry at 500 yards. The search light flashed on his lens, giving away his position, and a counter-sniper took him down with a bullet through the eye. Assuming his junior partner was dead, Low-Light barely escaped with his life. But Blackout was alive. Scalpel nursed him back to health in the infirmary of the Cobra prison, only to be tortured for information about the Joes once he'd regained his strength. The Interrogator was prepared to do his worst, but he hadn't even moved past blunt force to blades when Blackout started laughing uncontrollably. Unnerved, The Interrogator asked his prisoner what as so funny. "You think this is pain?" Blackout snorted, blood pluming from his nostrils. "I took a bullet in the eye and as left behind by a guy I trusted like a brother! Tell you what..you put me in a room with a Joe -- any Joe -- and I'll show you how to hurt somebody!" The Interrogator mentioned the encounter to the Commander, who was intrigued. After allowing Doctor Mindbender to replace the eye the prisoner had lost with a bionic imagaing device -- the Commander arranged for Blackout to be assigned to the Plague. Now he trades the lives of whomever he's asked to kill for fleeting moments of freedom...and what he hopes will be an opportunity to line up one of his former teammates in his built-in crosshairs. So what do you guys think?
