This entire thing is a recast with a good bit of modificationon to the arms and some paint experimentation.

The brown and green give him a really weathered look. That came out great.

The painting is awesome man. I too want to see a pic for scale though.

He is a full body cast of a Warhammer Necron Tomb Spyder. The damn thing was full pewter and is not one of their better casts. All of it's legs were broken when I got it and it was just so freakin heavy. I will did him out later today and take a pic of him menacing a joe fig. They are pretty nicely scaled to one another. The original model also had one very short arm and one gimy blaster arm. I used styrene to lengthen them.

It isn't a huge monster. But I think it is more than large enough to be damn menacing.

It's about the same size as the Spy-Troops flying "bug". So it certainly works.

With some ball joints on the arms and hips, and some hinge joints elsewhere on the legs, this would be stonkingly cool. Sell it in parts - body, arms, and legs - and let us bash in the joints. I've always liked the WarHammer designs, they just don't know how much money they could make by increasing their scale.

^^^^^

Lol, that's a joke right? They sell plastic sprues that cost next to nothing for four times the price of a single figure.

yeah dude, I don't think it is possible for GW to turn a higher profit. You can spend 60 bucks on a "miniature" that has less plastic in it than a single joe.

Maximizing the possible profit from a niche market isn't the same as maximizing the profit from a larger market. They emphasize the gameplay aspect of WH over all other aspects, which I couldn't care less about since you have to have friends in order play. Increasing the scale of their miniatures and selling them without so much emphasis on the gameplay would bring them in even more money, imho. We all know that 18th scale is the only true toy scale.
