Recondo had to sacrifice his head for my Gung-Ho custom, but truth be told I don't mind too much. The Blaine homage was neat and all, but the design flaws in the head kinda ruined it... and this new head can wear the hat and mask much more securely.

Had to use the hot glue trick to make a new socket so it would sit higher on the neck.

And Gung-Ho, whose body is done but still needs some gear, most especially some sort of chest gear. I gave him a gas mask because I liked that accessory on the Sigma Six Leatherneck figure, whose bulk was so huge he might as well have been Gung-Ho.

Contrary to Recondo, I had to dremel down the socket so the head could sit lower on the neck.

Perfect swaps. Definitely more true to the base characters.

Thanks!

Although I've had others complain about the crew cut and the beard on Recondo, truth be told...

Huh, that base body does work pretty well for Gung-Ho. And he remains one of the few characters that there isn't a decent 25th style figure of. Hmmmmm.....

Also, one of the other Clutch heads (like the Tomahawk with the separated mustache) might look good as well. I forget what color Recondo's hair is, though. http://generalsjoes.com/images/reviews/2010/pursuit_of_cobra/vehicles/alpha/wave1/tomahawk-12.jpg

Looks good!

Recondo's hair has always been brown, even when he was a clean-shaven Spy Troops soldier.

And the advantage with swapping between Bench-Press and Recondo is that the skin tones match perfectly, an advantage I don't have with Tomahawk.

Wow what a difference! I'm impressed. Yup I've tried swapping Reco's head with Benchpress for GH but realized he will need dremeling to bring it down a hair. I only have one recondo figure at the moment so I avoided the plunge. Seeing someone else do it has has inspired me to proceed. Also, BP's head looks great on Reco. I never would have guessed. He will also need some help to correct the hunch over syndrome.

Good stuff man thanks!

Best head swaps ever! lol Seriously I dig them. I used that head for my Gung Ho also, but I really like that body choice. And your choice for the Recondo head makes just as much sense as Hasbro's choice does. Well played.

I was just mulling over what head I should use on Gung-Ho, pondering if I should splurge for a custom cast head or something, and then it hit me like a Bruce Lee roundhouse kick that Recondo's head is almost the same skintone and has very Gung-Ho features.

Also, I'm really hating on Hasbro now because the perfect chestgear for this custom of mine, that looked like Sigma Six Leatherneck's vest, was going to be used on the now-cancelled Pursuit of Cobra Desert Heavy Duty.
