Awesome! A very ambitious and success project. I couldn't help but laugh at the MM being parked in front of a strip club. And when did Velma turn into a hottie? No crits, just keep'em coming. Maybe some guest stars to add to the crew (Batman and Robin, Tim Conway...grasping a little).

She was already a hottie. :shifty:

I like this re-imaging a lot. Awesome job on Scooby. A lack of a proper base figure for him has held up this sub-team joining EXCAL for awhile now ;) Very well played.

I also like how everyone got toughened up. For Fred to look less like Ken and more like G.I. Joe goes a long way towards winning here. lol. I have to wonder if there's a "tough" way to wear an ascot, but since I think the answer is no, I believe you chose wisely there. lol.

yet, I do think there's a risk that the team loses its soul a bit when Shaggy and Scoobs move away from the lovable coward bit. But it's still a fun take.

Love the mods to the van, though I would love the overall look a little bit more if you gace her one more coat of paint. But I feel silly making even a small critique in light of the awesomeness of the project a as a whole. In short, the whole thing is epic.

Awesome job! I love Velma and Shaggy best. Did you sculpt Scooby and those Demon things? they're really well done, awesome paint jobs! One final question is that the A team van?

Only critique I have is the paint on the van, did you use a brush? spray paint usually works best.

First, Thanks for all the interest and critiques. It means a lot coming from a group as skilled as this.
I will try to answer some of the requests as best I can.

Part lists:

Demon Larvae-Sculpted clay.

Shaggy-Duke body with a slayer head. (the head was painted by Macgyver)

Fred-Sabertooth body with a Slayer head and donor hands. (the head was painted by Macgyver)

Daphne-Slayer torso and legs, Covergirl arms, and a scarlet head.

Velma-Slayer torso and legs, Scarlet arms, and a SW head.

Mystery Machine- A-team van with Slayer and PTE dio kibble.

Scooby- sculpted clay (a rough sculpt done as a favor by the same artist who did the spiderbody. He plans on refining it as a realistic Great Dane, I actually asked for the rough copy to look a bit cartoony for this project)

Scrappy- Slayer (painted by my kids)

Afflicted WS17, Arachnia-Keres- Slayer model kit prototype (the head was painted by Macgyver)

Dio bits/accessories- Slayer

The van was a huge pain to paint, I almost threw it out, it was so messed up after my first two tries to paint it. The only way I could get paint to stick to it was finally with Krylon fusion as a primer. My tape all lifted as well allowing seepage :(. The last coat of paint was hand-painted to blend and smooth out all the damage done by the first two tries (airbrush paint tries left nasty paint clumps in odd random places in the only spots it would stick). At this point, someone with more skill than I is needed to fix it entirely. I think it would have to be sanded down to fully get all the lumps out. In hand it has a bit of a worn beater look, which goes with the feel of the theme. Not my intent, but it did work out enough that I can live with it, and I did like how all the mods turned out. I'm actually glad you guys called me out on that, I do like honest critiques and this was one that I felt could have been better as well.

On that note, the Scooby does need some work. The artist let me use this as a favor. It was not completed or originally intended to be Scooby. I knew he would not have the finished dane for a while, so he let me use this rough draft copy.

The afflicted is a test prototype of a model kit by Slayer. I have to say it really is more like a model. It will take some time and attention to detail to assemble. The feel and weight of it is more like a model. The artist is actually a model kit enthusiast so this makes sense. He only gave Slayer permission to produce a limited number of these, so I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to kick the tires with this. I am hoping he will continue to let Slayer offer his works as I have seen some of his concept designs for the wolf spider base version (male and female). And much like Cap am eagerly seeing visions of drider armies.

Shaggy will still have comical fear issues, he just now meets them with bullets instead of running. Overkill is his new way of coping :). A nod to Fred's ascot may show up in another episode in a different form :). It may be a while before I get a chance to add to the team, but I will post up any updates here when I do. I do plan on adding other 80's nostalgia groups to the "paranormal" invasion. I hope to score some Slayer heads and gear for the expanded Ghostbuster team which fits perfectly here. The base for echto 2 will look more like the dead reckoning, so be prepared.

DarkJedi, that was one of the many pics I used for reference on this project. I like your tech gear idea for Scooby and Velma. I would not entirely get rid of her classic glasses though, as I find them one of the most sexy things about her :). Look for some of your ideas to be implemented in the next edition (I however will claim all ideas as my own streak of brilliance! :P ) Daphne could have been more purple, but I promised my daughter she could pick her colors, and she based them off her favorite variant art version. The electrical tape was just for this sites no nipple policy :).

TigerClaw, I can get you a breakdown of the Slayerparts to order if you want the team. You could even ask SlayerDave to set you aside a set as some of the parts (the girl legs and that version of the dane, might not make it to the store) He is a good guy and could work something out for you I'm sure. The team should be easy to do, the spiderbody will be only available as a limited edition model kit as per deal with the artist, so I'm not sure of the details on that.

The unedited version does have cussing and the pasties removed. I edited it for the sites no nipple policy. For the requests here is the link:

This is just a fantastic, fun idea and you've brought it to life wonderfully.

The van may be the technical star of the show, but Thelma is a sublme beauty.

I saw that pic awhile back and stuck it in my reference folder for future use. Glad to see someone else had the same idea.

The tech gear would be cool to see and be most fitting.

Oh, linky no worky. Something about 'HostGator'?

Wow, these guys were a huge part of my childhood and it's cool to see them in a new light. Given how tough it was to paint the Mystery Machine, I think it came out great. Fred's shirt could use a bit of paint tightening too, but that's a minor thing. I'd love to see you tackle some of the more iconic baddies from the show when you get a chance.
