Found the Unimax Assassin's Creed 2 figures from the Gamestars line at the reset Target yesterday. 8.99 each, which is pretty pricey IMO. They've changed the construction a bit. Basically the same as the Crysis 2 figures, but with the Joe style insert molded ball swivel ankles and elbows. Sculpts are pretty decent, but the heads are generally soft with heavy paint. Assortment is Ezio, Doctor, Harlequin, Leonardo Davinci, Nicolo Machiavelli, and something Borgia I think. Haven't played the game. Picked up Harlequin and Ezio. A few of the figures have swappable hands (Ezio for his wrist blades) but are lightly accessorized otherwise. I'll try and get some pics up in a day or two, but time is short for the moment. Decent fodder for some fantasy style customs, and definitely crying out for some detail paint. I'll probably pick some more up as money permits, but I think I missed out on the Doctor (who had kind of a soft head sculpt and a syringe molded in his hand) but he's the one I want next.

8.99 does sound pricey. There weren't a lot of accessories in the game, other than swords. I wonder if these will last long enough to scrounge up on clearance.

UniMax are doing good with the Crysis figs, from what I can see. I'm not sure it's wise to assume these will make it to clearance. For a 6-figs-onlyl line, the price isn't too high, imho.

I'd like to get an Ezio as an early Arashikage assassin for my retro Joe niche.

I just get a Storm Shadow vibe from that character every time I see him.

You don't have the AC DCPI handy, do you, Hypno?

I love that idea, just as much as I love your retro Joe team.

I think those figs look sweet. The uniqueness of them makes them worth the price. Hope to find them when I return home.

1/18th scale action figures of 15th century Europeans certainly aren't clogging the aisles, that's for sure. I wish they'd do another Ages of Action assortment with this improved articulation.

I wonder though, if these figures showing up in stores means we'll see the Ghost Recon and Red Faction figures soon?

I had been thinking UniMax were gonna stick to the one-line-a-year pacing they've had so far with the Ages of Action, Bravo Force, Fearless Forces, and Crysis figs; but now they've stepped up to a 6-months schedule. Which I like a whole lot more. It doesn't really force us to have to get their stuff while having to choose not to get Hasbro stuff, or vice versa; but isn't a ridiculously long time to have to wait for something new. If these are as good as the Crysis figs, UniMax is quickly becoming one of my fave companies.

These I'll have to buy.
I'll make a secret society out of them.
