When I was very young, maybe 9 years old, I had this cardboard box, much like a keyboard box. In it, I had my Buck rogers and Battlestar Gallactic figures lined up inside. maybe a dozen or so figures total, and the lid flipped up. pretty cool for 1979!

I also had a vinyl Star Wars case for those figures.

When I first starting getting joes in like '83 or so, I also got the APC with my first joes, so most of them sat inside that.

I stored my figures in an old suitcase. All my vehicles in a cardboard box.

hey, me too! oh the memories... still have that suitcase, which now contains some childhood papers...
i used to store my MOTU collection in a suitcase...

although when I (or we) started with joes, we started keeping their packaging, and returning the toys to their packaging after play... until of course, they became more than a couple of dozen figures, and we dispensed with the cardboards (if i only knew then... lol)...

the only time i used a shoebox was to make bedrooms complete with furniture my sis made, for my gijoes... i used to pick one different joe every night to put in that shoebox bedroom. lol.

That's so cool.

I put my G.I.joes and Star wars figures into that Big Darth Vader Head thing that held like 36 figures. and my transformers had their own collector box. Both fit on a shelf I had alongside my brothers legos, and our Intellivision and nintendo.

Many mentioned that they miss the day when their whole collection could fit in a shoe box.
How many are of that number?

I'm also wondering how did you store your Joes as a kid when playtime was over?

It was always changing. At one time this is what my Joes were in:

That sticker outline is from the Autobot Jazz that I got from a cereal mail-in. Also note that I tried to "arm" the thing with a missile on the side. (drawing)

This became accessory storage as the number of figures grew....

I still have it, but now use it for storing papers and such...
