Iron Leeroy is based off of a custom by NFC. His was based off of the WoW character Leeroy Jenkins. If you don't know who Leeroy Jenkins is, welcome, this must be your first day on the Internet. Anyways, I hope JD likes my take on him & can link his figure in the thread so you can see what I based it on.

Iron Leeroy - Frontal Assault

When tactics don't matter, stealth isn't necessary, and you just need to make an impression, you send in Iron Leeroy. The Iron Leeroy weapon system dishes out as hard as it takes. Composed of Vibranium alloy, the armor can absorb large amounts of damage without compromising effectiveness in combat.

Cool figure.

You know the really issue I had with this video? Do people in WoW really have "strategy meetings"? Complete with statistical probabilities? And record them? Cause I'm calling shenanigans, this was staged.

I didnt know who Leeroy was. Had to google him. Never played World of Warcraft or any other games to be truthfull. Your figure looks cool though. Good paint apps. I like the dotted airbrush effect.

Heh, that's actually an unwanted side effect of my sealant. Sometimes it gives things a dusty look. Can't figure out why it does that periodically.

I'd say it sounds like it went bad, based on JFAK having reported something similar when using sealant not too long ago.

I'll admit I had to look up Leeroy too, but it was a funny story worth the few minutes it took to catch up. I'm sure I've heard the reference now, in hindsight, but having not ever followed WoW was fairly oblivious.

Hmm... Humidity. Any way to remove the dustiness short of repainting the whole thing?

here's my Iron Leeroy that inspired Dave's far superior version. (mine was a quick custom... I should have put a lot more work into it. I wish I had done much more with it.)

Red on the shins! Knew I forgot something! What do you think JD, put the tin color on the shins?

Dave, your custom is perfect as-is methinks. Your sculpt work is top-notch, the parts recipe is great, and the paint work is dynamite. I love the lasers on his legs, that's crazy appropriate. Also, IMO the "dusty" look totally fits the character who runs into the thick of the melee with no regards to caution.

I'd say yours is from either humidity or is residue at the bottom of the can. I use to get this as the can was running out of paint. I've only ever seen this on clear coats.
The issue drbindy is talking about it actually looked like Krazy glue- it wasn't textured like this.

Paint buffing sponges. I found some super fine grit (6000-10000) paint buffing sponges at my local hobby town usa.

They're little square sponges with a really fine grit finish for wet sanding and polishing paint on model cars n such.

It needs the daggers on the shoulder pads too. Tha tis a crazy detail that would put him even further over the top. Maybe arm him with a Thor light up hammer too.

Oh yeah I like Pluv's suggestions. Light up hammer and dagger shoulder pads all the way. Even without though this is an awesome custom. Freakin' great!

Not sure how I'd get the hammer to light up outside the Thor figure in an aesthetically pleasing way. Think it's beyond the scope of my technical skills
