So after upgrading my Hydra troops to the Cap line comic versions, I had some MU Hydras sitting around.

I'd been meaning to put together some Coil troops for Serpentor, and the base figure seemed to have potential. So here's what I did to it:

I'm considering taking the gloves and boots to gold instead of the yellow they are now.

EDIT - Went ahead and fixed the gauntlets and swapped in some greaves:

Here's two of them with their boss:

What do you guys think?

I think you stole a good chunk of my recipe is what I think. Still, good to see something similar in practice. I'd definitely do something with the boots and gloves, but I dunno, gold might be too regal for a trooper. Not sure what other color you could go with though. My only other issues with it stem from the base body, and that's Hasbro's fault, not yours.

Oh, and that look would also work really well for the Marvel hate group, the Sons of the Serpent, who have begun looking more and more like Serpentor over time . . .

I see absolutely no reason why that actual design from Marvel couldn't work for the GIJOE universe.

I'd go with the gold on the boots and gloves. The yellow seems...distracting.

Yep, paint up those gloves and boots. I'd army build this figure.

Thanks guys. I think I will bring the gold into the gloves and boots...and I may swap out the lower legs entirely before I do.

Do you guys think slightly longer calves would address some of the inherent issues with the base figure?

I don't have an issue with the base figure.

You could custom a leader that looks like the comic series one that posted hipnohustler! The customs is a very good concept and has an excellent paint finish. Great job! :-P

Thanks, guys.

The chest plate is off the Resolute "pilot" Destro, which I needed four of for another project, so this was really an exercise in recycling (so the figures are green in more than one way).

Glad you dig them.

They look really cool! Especially surrounding Serpentor.

What did you use to make the belts?

Nice work as usual Spin! Serpentor can never have too many lackeys surrounding him!
