Yeah they said it may end up being through Master Collector.

Still, they said they would find a way to do it.

To be fair, the comic packs may have more than one sticker/redemption thing per pack. I'm not optimistic of this being the case, but it is a possibility. Regardless, we'll have to wait and see. As long as they're not like the Star Wars VOTC ones that required you to buy every figure in the wave (which they did away with with the most recent wave) I won't mind. I have uses for at least 5 of the issue 21 and 1 packs.

You, my friend, are quite high.

;-)

I was afraid of something like this. I can't express how freaking happy I am that Doc is getting made. Seriously. But come on, man, of the first wave of comic pack figures, 5 out 0f 6 are pure useless crud. If they follow the SW comic pack pricing, to get 5 proofs of purchase from the comic packs, with the comic packs carrying no enjoyable factors on their own, makes Doc an at LEAST $50 figure... That's very disheartening. Pimpin' Destro is cheaper than that, and was MUCH more difficult to acquire. I mean, they DO realize right, how completely unexciting most of the first 3 comic packs are, right? Right?

I am not ready to rip anyone a new one or anything pending more concrete details, but I definately don't like what has been revealed so far. At least with the Star Wars mail in, you had to buy a bunch of awesome figures that you likely would have gotten ANYWAY.

I LOVE YOU LANCE

But really...there were only two good figures out of all the comic packs(Serpentor, Firefly) and those were just repaints.

be patient,.. they're comming.....

fellas, don't forget that the comic packs have NEW HAMA comic books in them. NEW MATERIAL. 'between the panels' type stuff, etc.

and, more than likely, the 'flag points' on these comic packs will be in the multiples, vs. a single point on figs, just like the old days. i'm pretty sure that if you just bought one of each, you'll have enough for Doc.

i know i'll be getting more than one of each comic pack anyway, because after seeing them MIB at the con, i'm going to want to have one just to display as is, besides the one i need to rip open to read. those ashley wood covers are beautiful.

Yeah, they do. That's probably why they added the Doc figure as an incentive to buy them. I've already decided I'm going to use the unwanted figures as custom fodder. Very expensive custom fodder.

Not the first three though. Those are just straight up reprints of issues 1, 21, and 24. So more stuff that I'll end up throwing away or giving to the thrift store.

I highly doubt this. They didn't mention anything at the con or in the Q&A that would lead me to believe that the new comic packs will be using flag/battle points, but that there would be a proof of purchase sticker (similar to the ones in the last two years' Star Wars Vintage line) and I really don't think there would be more than one in a package.

The only mention of flag points at all was at the con, where they said they would figure out some way to use flag points on these. However, that was not to say that it would require only 5 flag points in place of 5 stickers. I'm sure that'll be a separate thing from the stickers in the comic packs.

Okay, here's a recap of the details of the Doc promotion as explained by the Hasbro guys at the convention:

(1) You will have to buy the comic packs.
(2) . . . HOWEVER, I'm 99.999999999999% certain that they said the promotion encompasses waves 1 *and* 2 of the comic packs, so you're not forced to buy 6 wave 1 packs. (At this time, the only wave 2 pack that has been revealed is the Torch/Ripper pack.)
(3) Flag points will not be accepted for Doc.

EDIT: As I thought I heard at the convention, 6 comic packs must be purchased. However, I don't recall if the Hasbro guys mentioned that you had to buy 6 total or one of each pack from Waves 1 and 2.

Yeah, we've got the Hawk/Scarlett (#1), Duke/CC (#24), and Snake Eyes/Stormy (#21) coming out in the first wave. I believe the second wave (with the Dreadnoks) will also just reprint existing comics (they flashed by the cover for Issue #30 on the projector).

I don't think it will be until the 3rd Wave that we'll start getting new content, with the Issue #21 "Between the Panels" and the "Day in the Life of Springfield" issue...

Justin

Thomas is correct in that it will actually be six proof of purchase rather than 5. It's been corrected on some of the other joe boards as well.

This doesn't really bother me, as i have yet to see a 5-pack in person, outside of the convention. I might just skip it/them altogether in favor of the comic packs, so i end up with fewer dupes and can better justify picking up the ones i missed on single cards.
