Not been very productive, lately. But, one thing I've been slowly working on is the Hellchick V2 redesign I saw at Autodestruct.com. Still not sure how I feel about working on a bare chested female action figure.

Image

The torso is mostly 25th Firefly repaint, grafted onto a Power Team Elite waist. The legs are a combination of parts, with Darth Vader thighs knees and shins grafted in below the PTE hips. The original PTE knees now function as the ankles. And, the toe/hoof joints are Stormtrooper knees.

The sides of the torso will be covered in a mess of overlapping straps, but it's the horns that the head will eventually have that are really intimidating me.

Don't feel weird man! you do good work, remember it's an art-form! Really cool original figures, really love the detail you've added.

well you're pretty much not even just making customs now, you're creating entirely new things. When the finished item shows less than 10% of any original parts, you're on another level. brilliant work dude. Can't wait to see her (and the others) done.

I thought the same thing on the Minbari resemblance.

iirc, Asphalt and/or GR posted in general customizing more than a year ago about Mr. Surfacer. I've never tried it, but I recall it looking to be fairly impressive, effect-wise.

EDIT - yep, remembered correctly. Looks like you'll have see if Asphalt still has the pics from that thread though, as they show up for me as red "x"

Thanks, everybody!

G.I.JAC, I keep saying this is a creative outlet, I guess I just have prudish tendencies.

Dennis, I've been following the works of Sith_Fire30, after somebody else here, linked to his blog. Seeing what he does has made me realize that I don't need to worry so much about having fodder that matches what I want to make. It's forced me to push myself with the sculpting. I still want to switch over to the Fixit Sculpt he uses, since I seem to be a little too ham-fisted for the Apoxie Sculpt I'm using.

Dennis's link has the important information. I use the 500, which I think is the thickest. I put it on with the tip of a toothpick, or similar, feather the edges out a bit, then let it dry. After it's dry, it sands really nice.

The head crest is totally inspired by the Minbari. The spiky eyebrows, I've got sculpted on her, are kind of reminding me of some of the Centauri, though.

sithfire is another one that I say isn't even a customizer at this point, he's so far beyond that now. I give you major credit for shooting for that. You definitely have the "chops" for it (and this only became a pun based on your ham-fisted comment, after the fact, lol)

Greyryder V4! Not that I've finished, or even taken pictures of V3, yet....

I got a little carried away, posing and taking pictures of him.

Don't mind the crack, visible on the back of the right hand. It's been glued, and is stable.

Progress is slow on Hellchick. I can only do a little bit, at a time, or screw up what I just finished, while I work on another area. the 1.8 pere-release of Minecraft hasn't helped. :whistling:

Are those some sexy ankle joints I spy on your Greyryder V4? And a thigh swivel joint on the right leg?

Indeed they are. Planning a similar swivel, in the left leg.

Can't wait to see Hellchick realized. Just the sort of thing I love seeing done.

As for the bare breasted thing, at least you're in good company. You should see how detailed my girls have gotten. Could probably take them to the AdultCon in Vegas.

Great work on that "on the toes" leg structure. I thought about making a gal with hooved feet when I saved the legs from a CORPS! Adventure set Arabian Oryx. You give me great ideas.

Seriously man, you're doing stuff that few others can touch. Keep it going my man.

Also, when thinking on your Greyryder custom (awesome articulation adds again, btw) and thinking about how long you've had that concept going on for (Your Quantum Rip story has been going on for at least as long as I've been around here), I'm thinking that the Monster Hunter author I talk so much about in OT just might have been peeking over your shoulder when he wrote his first one.
