I overall loved the Hasbro version, but he had a tiny head. So I used the Slayer version they did a few months back, it fits sizewise much better. Now I just need a shield for him.

He looks really sharp. The only issue I might have personally is that the larger head makes him look proportionally like a fairly average sized dude. That's Hasbro's fault though, and not a crit of this figure.

Rogers does tend to fluctuate his build depending on the artist. I always saw him as in peak condition, but not the over-roided guy a lot of artists make him. More like the John Cassaday artwork.

I can buy that totally. I'm guessing he's still considerably larger than the movie cap figs anyway. And Jac is right, Your smooth paint apps are ridiculous as always.

perfect figure, only thing he's really missing out of the box is the translucent shield

I can see this head working for some of the recent portrayals in the books. Its not as square-jawed as most artists but it works. Personally I'm okay with the MU Steve head but if I had to get a custom one this might just be it.

The Steve figure stands almost a good head taller than the Movie Cap figures. I tried shaving some of the height out of the lower legs in the boot and got him closer to Movie Cap height but still wasn't a match. You'd have to take some out of the thigh as well and I'm not ready to do that yet. Steve is more trim than Movie Cap though. Movie Cap seems a bit "roided out" where Steve is a bit leaner and more proportional.

After trying to find a good picture of that clear shield, I agree with what MS just said.

That head works wonderfully.

For those of us that don't read comics anymore, what's the story on the costume?

Cap was seemingly killed at the end of Civil War. Bucky (cured of his commie brain washing) assumed the mantle of Captain America. When Steve returned he wasn't going to dork Bucky out of job and he(Steve) was offered the role of the US's "top cop." So he took this costume and just went by Commander Rogers.

I like that head on that body... I don't have any problem with the factory head, but this totally works.

I'm going to get a Cap shield cast in clear and paint it up with clear paint for his energy shield.

The thing Marvel is throwing me off on is now Steve is both Commander Rogers AND Captain America at the same time depending on the book.
