Two completely different figures from different universes. I really want a set of Batman figures in Joe scale, but seeing as there aren't any good ones readily available I decided I'd make my own. The Penguin is a Mutt Williams figure onto which I sculpted the Gut and vest. I used the coat from a pirates of the Caribbean figure Pintel or Raggeti, I forget which one the fat one is. Finally the head is one of the awesome creations from SDS.

Colonel Courage is my take on the character, I used the top half of a Indiana Jones figure and the lower half is that of the german soldier I think it works great. I used that SW head everyones been using. I chose to avoid the 25th Duke body as I wanted to give him a more 'unique' feel. I figured he wouldn't really roll up his sleeves being such a stickler for 'proper dress discipline'. I also thought black gloves would aid in this. Finally the colonel sticker is from cobra stickers. I have posted WIP pics of courage in my blog.

As always let me know what you think.

Here's the Penguin and the Riddler, the riddler idea I stole from unknownsoldier13.

Everything is really well done. I like the added gear on Colonel Courage. That was a good call. And a Penguin/ Riddler set like that I'd buy at retail in a heartbeat.

Colonel Courage looks okay, but there is no example anywhere of a military uniform that features a tie worn outside and around the collar of a dress coat. It looks pretty awkward, as if the shirt changes to a coat halfway down, or he's just wearing a matching skirt. You might consider picking between the two. I do like the interchangeable hat/ helmet though.

Fantastic Penguin though. Love the sculpting. That looks quite good.

I agree it looks really awkward, at least until you have the web gear on and then it comes across as two different articles of clothing. The belt creates a false line that works for him. I like the different hats too.

The Riddler looks good but the Penguin totally steals the show. That is superb. Everything about him is awesome. Good job on painting the head. the sculpting is top notch. I might have went black with the vest but the brown fits the coloring of the fur so bonus points for style.

I can't express my thoughts on the topic any better than pluv already did. Only thing I'd have said different is to focus on the Penguin's awesomeness. Truly inspired. For the first time, I've now seen one that makes me want to actually add him to my verse.

On Courage, I do agree on the tie - though I know exactly what you were shooting for. If you could sculpt just a bit over the top of the tie, to make it look like a coat over top of a dress shirt (with the tie then tucked beneath the coat) it would sell it much better.

I might be incorrect, but I think that this is the first custom of Col. Courage in modern era? Finally! This guy outranked all expect for General Hawk. Think about it, Duke taking orders from Col. Courage. Of course Duke would also have to take orders from his little half brother Falcon.

Colonel Courage in his "dress" uniform is okay, but his battle ready is great. I think being able to give him both outfits by swapping gear is brilliant.

Thank you all for your comments, I think I will keep the colonel in battle gear. I like him the best like that and I don't want to modify him further. I am very glad the Penguin was a hit, that head is awesome and I believe that SDS is still selling it.
bcost74 thanks for the comment I wish mine was the first modern Courage. However, quite a few others have been made in the past mostly utilizing 25th Dukes body and the same head I used.

Penguin is great. Looks like he stepped right out of Arkham City.

Wasn't sold on Courage until I saw the shot with the web gear and helmet.

Nice work.
