I had an idea for a universe where the world has been conquered by a despotic warlord. Decided to make some resistance fighters. I've got one finished, and ideas for a few others. They're a lot simpler bashes, than the creatures I've been doing lately. Here's the first one, others to follow whenever I get the fodder/decide to work on them.

He's made from a variant Steel Brigade (same as Snake Eyes V54/30th Anniversary Stalker) I patched up the holes in his knees where the knee pads plug in. I dry brushed the pants with Model Master sand, but the effect is really subtle. The sweater is interior green dry brushed over olive drab. And, I painted the straps on the legs, since Hasbro couldn't be bothered. Head is modified from a movie Thor. I used Mr. Surfacer 500 to build up the facial scars on most of the forehead and cheek, and used a moto-tool to try to engrave them in the eyebrow. I painted them a light flesh color to make them look more like old scars, than the angry red of new scar tissue. A paint wash turned Chris Hemsworth's blond hair red. Pistol and silencer are spares from a Cobra Trooper, but I'd like to eventually replace them with one of Marauder's silenced .45s. The rifle came from POC Beachhead.

Very cool Figure somtimes the look is so neat when the bashes are simple but its always the paint and added detail that makes it way more than simple Right?

The effort isn't simple, but the design aspects are. I like having a few figures that come across that way also. This combo really looks great. Would make for a great alt uniform Rock N Roll too.

The new sweater based torsos are so versatile though, I love it. Could be a WWII resistance fighter, a modern commando, a futuristic fighter, for me I use them as crew members on space ships, seriously. just a fun figure.

The work you did on the head is awesome though. I need to upgrade my supplies soon and try this Mister Surfacer thing.

Have to agree with Bindy's RnR observation, that was WI I thought it was when the pic popped up.

Great design for the uniform. Simple yet very realistic.

Man, why does the rest of the every Thor figure have to be so useless... I keep passing them up because $8 for a head seems a bit much, but you really made it look worth it! Entire figure looks excellent.

I'm in the same camp, don't wanna spend 8 bucks for just the head, and have a box full of bodies.

Awesome custom too, love to make one like it!!!

Thanks, guys!

Ironically, I bought Thor for the body, and didn't know what to use the head for. I'm using it for a Lemurian ranger. I really need to finish that one....

I imagine if you do a lot of fantasy customs like you do, the Thor line is great fodder. :)

I'm not a fan of the torsos much, and I hate the hips - and therefore the legs by default. But the arms are actually nicely done, so long as you avoid the deluxe figs. The chain mail for Thor is surprisingly more versatile than fantasy only. I could see it having a role in many a SW figure's uniform. Also, didn't the Browncoats in Firefly have some chainmail in their unis?

The bare arms are nice too.

I hate those Marvel movie hips. The Thor figures really aren't that useful to me, because of all the tech I have in my fantasy 'verse. Mu tends towards high tech military gear, with concessions where needed for transgenic individuals, and the Thule wizards mostly go for trench coats and combat boots. I've decided that Lemuria has the tech to make their armor look anyway they want it, and go for overly ornate designs to look more impressive. (Call it small island syndrome.)
