This isn't actually a Spare Parts figure in the strictest sense. Mostly because I had already tried these same parts in this combination before as Fast Draw, but it didn't work.

Folks had issues with the color scheme of the original parts not feeling like Fast Draw and, frankly, I didn't feel like painting the figure...until last night.

In addition to the paints, I gave him a different helmet and actually got a hold of the original missile rig for him.

So does he work?

File comment: And here's a shot from the back without his gear. I really wanted to bring out the details of the armor on that torso.

File comment: Without the helmet, he's just a scruffy gunfighter type.

File comment: I eliminated the blue from his color pallette because, frankly, I never liked that color on the original figure.

Kinda looks like the middle ground between Grandslam and Fastdraw without leaning too much toward either direction.

Nice. Works for me. And I dig the head choice.

Hey Spin...I am not usually a big fan of new sculpt customs but I really dig Fastdraw. Its a really crisp, eye catching figure. Great that we was made with "spare" parts. Nice job.

I agree, you might have a brand new character there. Very nice mix of parts and paint apps.

I'll echo the Grand Slam/Fast Draw sentiments. This is a nice looking figure and I think he'd even work as an original creation (not that he doesn't work as Fast Draw).

Code Name: Fast Slam
Specialty: This guy right here...he's the guy.
File name: Forgotten
Rank: Only after a two-day bender without a shower.
Hawk says: "He's not really a missile specialist, but after he's shotgunned a few beers it's hard to keep him out of other people's stuff. We're hoping he just falls asleep before he figures out how to fire that thing."

Hmmmm...maybe I'll just use him as Fast Draw. ;)

:rotfl:

Good stuff there. The only thing I'm not diggin' is those legs. And it's not the figure, I've just never liked those REALLY LONG Heavy Duty legs...they just don't look right. Other than that, it's a cool custom.

Pfft, Spin, don't listen to them. They only think 'Grand Slam' because of the GS noggin. :) I can see Fast Draw very well -- love the red helmet, btw -- and not just because I used the same pants and legs in my own incarnation.

I suspect if you swapped the head, you'd lose all the 'it's Grand Slam' comments. The 'really long legs' worry from afsgtdoc, well, we'll have to keep that.

PS, Beav, is the ability to update gallery submissions with better pictures or current text requirements still somewhere down on the priority list? Just knowing it hasn't been thrown off the list entirely is enough for me.

Actually it was more the prominent paddign combined with the green and red color scheme.
