Wave 1 case pack = deth of the line

5 Caps
4 Thors
3 Iron Man

All of different flavors.

Wave 2 case pack doesn't get much better with 2 Hulk mixed in replacing a couple Cap and 1 TBD (probably Hawkeye).

Where the eff is Hawkeye.
Where the eff is Black Widow.
Where the eff is Loki.

Seriously Hasbro, do you really think that people want a crap load more versions of the exact same figures that are still on the shelves from 1-2 years ago?!

Wave 3 will probably be awesome, with all of the cool new stuff in it, and we'll never see it, because the stores will be clogged with this crap sitting right next to (or mixed in with) all of the other movie Thors, Iron Mans, and Caps that are already there.

This cycle is REALLY starting to get frustrating as a collector.

/end rant

Wow, it is almost funny when we joke about horrible case breakdowns and then get them.

Hasbro's business model for movie lines is, and has been for some time, "LASER BLAST". In fact, RoC was actually a bit better managed than the other movie lines. If you can believe that.

Yeah, except when I still have the same Iron Man 2 figures on the shelf next to some Cap and Thor figs.

Ah, maybe you are correct. http://geek-news.mtv.com/2011/09/13/construction-continues-on-the-hall-of-justice-with-young-justice-series-2/

Guess I haven't seen the later waves of figures.

And that first wave is ridiculous. Though I might get that Cap w/ the webgear specifically for the webgear.

Since Hawkeye was in the TRU Canada listings, I would assume he'd be in the first case along with the other figures on the site.

To address your rant, I do really think that Hasbro thinks we want a crap load more versions of the exact same figures that are still on the shelves from 1-2 years ago, and they think we want to pay an even higher price for them!

This case pack issue is beyond ridiculous at this point. I get it that retailers want the bigger names and that Hasbro marketing and sales apparently think that kids only buy the core characters, but the evidence has shown for the past couple of years that the core characters don't sell through at the existing quantities. It was a minor miracle that stores finally got rid of their Marvel Universe Iron Man overstock, and I have yet to see a single store that carried the Iron Man 2 line that doesn't still have stock almost two years later. We all already know the debacle that was the Thor line, and even Captain America still has a significant presence on retail shelves. Hasbro likes to claim that the pegwarmers are a regional issue, but I see basically the same ones no matter where I go. At this point, they also can't use the lead time as an excuse, since this has been a problem for years.

I know it's unrealistic to expect we'll ever see case assortments that make everyone happy, but I don't see how any progress will be made on this issue until someone admits that the current paradigm isn't working. I don't see how anyone wins if Hasbro has tooled up new molds for Loki, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, but no one ever gets the chance to purchase them except through Chinese sellers or at a deep discount at TJ Maxx/Marshall's/Ross (if they can be found) or even not at all.

The street date for the Avengers Line is Feb 5. That being said, some retailers will put them out early. Spoke with an Asst Manager in a locat TRU and they are reorganizing the aisle that Marvel is in. Was told 3/4 of aisle set aside for Marvel and then DC & the rest. Of the space for Marvel, I was told Avengers is first (closest to the head of the aisle) and would take up half of the pegs for Marvel (the other half split on the other Marvel lines). He would not show me the plan o gram, but stated they had 'several' boxes of the 1:18 Avengers figures to put out the 4th after close.

I forgot about that listing. So that is probably what the TBD figure is, like Mysterious Stranger theorized. But that was the "Ultimate" Hawkeye wasn't it? Not the movie Hawkeye.

You forgot the slight retools, that take away some of the articualtion, that Hasbro has heard people crying out for for years!

Yes, absolutely. I was actually able to find multiple characters from at least two assortments on ROC street date. With the super heroes, it's always hit and miss.

Ok trying to keep a positive attitude about this line...
The wave 01 listing on BBTS, is for wave 01 revision 02.

Shouldn't there be a wave 01 (no revision) and wave 01 revision 01, before wave 01 revision 02?

Maybe Black Widow, Hawkeye, Loki, and others are in these "missing" case assortments, including some "secret" characters that they don't want to reveal yet, so they aren't up for pre-order.

Like I said, just trying to remain positive about the line. :-)

Cap is still widely available from last summer's line and they still over pack him?
Marketing geniuses.

At this points, even kids who want everything on screen will feel like they won't need another Cap so soon.

holy crap...sorry for anyone who gets stuck with the revision cases put out heavily at their stores.

that said, this looks like I made a good decision to get away from the 3 3/4" marvel lines.
