:wow:

Seriously.

Love the altar - is it entirely scratch-built, or did you use something for the base?

Chief beat me to it. As I scrolled thru that post, I realized I would be using the jaw drop icon for the first time ever. This is ridiculously awesome. The pieces are all there, so yeah once you get the space to do pics in a dio setting to top off the background, there's not much more to add other than to find a way to have chanting piped in over the top of the post.

Awesome altar. Awesome figure to go on the altar. Awesome everything.

You want to hear my only critique? Edit the title to say updated 4/9 instead of 3/9 so that more people tune in. Beyond that, I gots nuthin.

Teh altar is based on McFarlane's Alien's vs Predator diorama scene. The one where the Predator has the Preda-alien pop out. You can still see the Predator markings on it, but I think they work here. He also added the Cthulhu sculpture on it and of course the chains. I love that dio piece and your use of it here is excellent.

Are those pillars the Attack of the Clones ones? Very good job for those too. You might be able to use the hooks on the pillars for some hanging lamps or something. If you could get working lights in them I think that would really add to your diorama scene, especially a glowing green or something like that.

What's the recipe for the sacrifice?

What?

That figure could work for pretty much all genres... :D

Thanks guys! I am so very happy with how this project turned out as I have been planning it for over 5 years :)

Now, to answer all of the questions:

The altar is from the AvP Birth Of The Hybrid set, although modded subtly with the addition of the mini Cthulhu heads (trimmed very neatly off of the little statues I have) and the chains. I left the heads off the backside as they wouldn't be seen in the diorama and the back of the altar is differently detailed than the front anyway.

The pillars are from the Geonosis Arena Playset, the Padme pillars are far shorter and thinner (the Padme ones will be used for another custom in the future, I only had 3 and the project required 4 pillars so I went with the Geonosis Arena ones :) ).

There will be a full story written in the future as soon as I build the full diorama.

The sacrifice is an Ayy Vida body with an Evo nightgown Padme head and some slight mods.

He resurrected the Cthulhu thread! The Old Ones rise! The sea boils!

(still one of my favorite sets of figures, really amazing project)
