Person A doesn't like the articulation on a toy = Person B who might have decided on that articulation should lose their job.

Sure. Okay. Not that Person A should just not buy the toy.

I m sure person A not buying that toy, along with how many other people didn't buy that toy lead to his sacking. If he didn't do the job to the standards hasbro set, then he gets fired. whether it is fanboys not liking articulation changes or mom and dad not buying little timmy another Iron man. Or another Iron man. Or that other Iron Man.

If it wasn't approved by his bosses it wouldn't have happened or he'd have been fired before the figures ever left the factory. Is it a bad decision? In my opinion yes. Can I do anything about it? Yeah I can not buy the figures. Calling for the guy to lose his job is just petty fanboy egotism.

It's that bolded part that leads to Vonner losing his job. By your logic, actually doing the thing that leads to the inevitable conclusion isn't as bad as saying it should have happened sooner.

And seriously, why would I *not* want him to be removed from making stuff I don't want, assuming these issues have anything to do with his dismissal at all; which isn't a known fact on either side of this hypothetical discussion? It's not like I have any other option to obtain figs of characters I love, like I could do with pretty much any other product in the universe.

Don't like Honda cars? Go buy a Ford.
Don't like Wonder Bread? Go get Mrs Baird's.
Don't like Marvel figs? Screw yourself and say nice things about the guy that might be to blame.

My best hope is that Vonner goes to work for Mattel; so we can get some good DCU figs finally.

And yeah, that frame of Cap ragging on France is complete BS. The dude just woke up from fighting alongside French Resistance fighters like 6 weeks prior to that image; he's *not* gonna think the French are surrender monkeys.

Well I was referring to it being difficult to be fired from your job in France. I am not sure where a fanboy wet dream ultimate cap comes into play.

as far as "don't buy it" I don't
I ahve been preaching the don't buy it option forever. but it isn't my job to ataboy everyone in the industry that works on toys comics and whatever other is being schlocked to my demographic. The Hasbro product under preformed, he got canned. good, maybe the new guy will be better. maybe it will be more of the same, maybe it will be worse. then maybe that guy will get fired too. I screw up my job I get fired. I don't see how that is any different.

Yeah, but in your job, I doubt that the rantings of less than 1% of your customer base would be enough to get you fired. I keep hearing how dude screwed up the line. What I want to see are numbers showing drops in sales and some sort of hard data pointing to lack of articulation as the reason for the slump in profits.

Because I'm really not feeling that right now. Again - the rants and protests of a bunch of 40-yr old men regarding a children's toy line just doesn't seem like enough of a catalyst to effect any change in the real world.

i agree, I definitely want to see numbers. I want to see them from the 80's too from units produced to cost etc. but according to Hasbro they don't listen to us 1%ers so I doubt some CEO cruised Hiss Tank and said "man we need to fire that guy."

also I am not on the lack of articulation camp, i am in the too many Thor/ spidey/wolverine/ Cap/ Ironman camp, for this one.

Can't argue with that one. That's more likely the reason why they're still on the pegs. Parents aren't going to get 9 different mostly-identical Iron Man figs for their kids. Nor 20 movie Cap variants that weren't even in the movie.

Huh? These two comments sound like they're saying I/we got him fired and then that we're not large enough to have any impact at all. I dunno which way you're going here, man. Not that it matters, since *nobody* said he should have gone sooner until he was actually gone.

Because I'm really not feeling that right now.

Who said the lack of POA in the Avengers line is the reason for the slump in profits? The line's not even been out a month, so how could it be the reason for Hasbro's slump in profits last year? Also, you got any hard numbers about how we're 'less than 1% of Hasbro's customer base'? Because I don't know of any industry that so blatantly caters to 'less than 1% of their customer base' like the toy industry does. I know when I sub-teach in the elementary schools, all I hear about from the kids is how they're so eager for the 30th Anniversary Collection figs.

Man, it sure would be nice if y'all actually read my complaint, since I actually said:
Dudes, seriously; if Vonner's responsible for this crap (and the case ratios of the Cap and Thor lines), he should've been sacked sooner.

I don't think anyone can protest the idea that case packout ratios and character selection negatively affected the Cap and Thor lines. And, again IF Vonner's to blame for that, which again *NOBODY* here on this board knows either way; then he *should* have been sacked sooner as maybe then we all could have gotten the figs we wanted and Hasbro the money they wanted. Probably not, but maybe.

But, please do, keep telling me it's got nothing to do with the performance of anybody at Hasbro and is entirely about my age.

Except I didn't read any of your posts. I wasn't responding to anything you said in the least. That's how the Foes list works.

I was debating danielb, which I do on a daily basis off-site, we just decided to bring it here to switch things up.
