Couple simpler customs started over the weekend.

The "Clearfield" was a merger of somewhat antiquated and high tech equipment. The Mobile Heavy Rocket Artillery Vehicle (MHRAV), was a truck mounted, dual medium range surface to surface missile system. It was part of a network of heavy and specialized artillery pieces. These vehicles were integrated with a command and control network. Could use real time data from UAV's and laser targeting by forward SOF's. Many cases the coordinates were manually input into the vehicles targeting computer.

The missiles were old but effective at delivering nuclear, conventional, and cluster explosives. Nuclear was a no go. But, the conventional warhead and cluster or frag explosives packed a powerful punch. It could clear a battlefield of enemy infantry or at least inflict a lot of damage and havoc for the enemy. The tonnage of explosive power would cause heavy damage to the surrounding area.

Unfortunately, the "Clearfield" saw limited action. Cons: The collateral damage and civilian death toll could be severe if hit populated areas. If a target was confirmed outside a major city then was a great tool beyond that was not a precision strike weapon. The range was limited to 150 miles. Easily brought down by enemy fire. Slow to reload.

When it was used, the pro's out weighed the cons. Enemy forces suffered casualties and significant damage to their equipment. It's fire power made it an unexpendable asset. The "Clearfieid" operate along the perimeter of the occupied zones. In Virginia, they served a more defensive role if the invaders advanced north.

It's offensive roles were more after targets of opportunity or where there was a significant presence of enemy activity outside populated cities.

Another simpler custom working on.

The "Badger" was used in close combat and for infantry support. The few built were at a TACOM facility in Virginia. Used uparmored HMMWV's and the 25mm main chain gun canned from damaged LAV's. Modifications were made to the chassis and mechanical equipment to support the turret and additional weight of operating equipment and ammunition.

Resource constraints placed on the military during the alien invasion limited mass production of modified, existing weapon systems. The "Badgers" were limited in number. Most were sent into combat zones in South Eastern US where they were desperately needed. It was not uncommon to see militia forces employing "Badger's". Militia used in recon, defense, and hit-and-run operations against alien forces.

Militia and military units would do infield modifications; adding additional armor or sandbags for additional protection in area where the fighting was most intense. It was welcome site to militia forces who were engaged in fighting in the occupied US southeast. The the heavier fire power could easily take out invader troops and potentially light vehicles.

I combined to two critique posts into one thread. We ask that if multiple customs are posted on the same day that they get combined so it doesn't push other people's work to the bottom. I realize every forum out there has their own set of rules regarding multiple custom threads and it is getting harder and harder to keep track.

I love that missile truck though. That looks awesome. The Badger isn't bad but it just feels weird because all I can think is it is a tank mounted on a Humvee. I see the turret and expect a tank body under it.

Thanks pluv! Understand, sorry for the mix up. The Badger will start coming together. There is (or was) a HMMWV called Avenger which had a turret mounted anti-aircraft missile system.

The missile truck spent most time modifying the interior. All vehicles still have little more work left to finish before painting and weathering.

Yeah, not sold on that Humvee build, but I'm very eager to see where it goes.

The missile truck is amazing already.

I think we're in for a treat when these are completed.

Yeah was afraid of that; HMMWV had a direction for it. Wondering if the sandbags are throwing things off or is it the open space? The body of the HMMWV still needs to be completed and armor added. input or suggestions?

The missile truck. That one actually is heading in right direction. The rack, rockets came from two 1/48 scale Corporal Ballistic Missile kits. Took each launcher and combined them. The rotating turret, stabilizer, are Scratchbuild. The interior cab had to be completely redone. Need to finish the launcher, add engine components to rear to operate the launcher, computers, and other other detail parts. The cab exterior will be modified: armor and gunner copula on right side of the cabin roof.

for me it is the openness of the HMMWV. The frame just doesn't seem heavy enough to support the turret. when you flesh out the armor that might be remedied.

I think that sums it up for me too, but I will say, since it's just a WIP especially, I have an extreme amount of faith you'll turn this one into a gem too.

These are indeed spectacular. That kit bash that you did for the missiles was just incredible.

Your work reminds me much of an old RPG that I used to play back in the day called Twilight 2000. You would have enjoyed that, I bet.

Very well done.

Added new parts and details to exterior. Few other things left to do and then paint/weather.
