I'm just going to revive this thread because this sort of fits...
The A Real American Hero Collection figures were by and large all pretty great... The few figures we got who had new heads created were all somewhat similar in the face. I'm just wondering why when the few who got subsequent versions were done, they used different heads. Sure Fire v2 and Big Brawler v2 and even Funskool Brawler all used different heads from the vintage line. I'm just wondering what the business reasons for these decisions were. Were the molds for those new heads not built to last and not viable, or were the sculpts deemed of a lower quality or what? I'm just wondering if any of the people who research this sort of stuff know anything about what drives those sort of choices.
I'm guessing Hasbro lost track of where the Lane and Mulholland head molds went and just went with what was easier to find. Big Brawler in particular because he was supposed to be Outback and got changed when they couldn't get the name rights and switched to Big Brawler.
