Thanks for the comments. You're all right, Cap's work is amazing. For the tats, to think he's doing that with the limitations he's been having with his vision makes it all the more remarkable.

bigtattoo - I actually thought of you as I posted Chase. Wondered if you were still around, and if you'd approve. ;)

D's universes are just so easy to get visually. When he floats some background story, it is as if I can already envision floorplans and backdrops. Plus, there is that chance to throw something wholly nuts out there, like the special wrench with the lipstick container on the endcap.

I am still trying to get the tats better. Funny thing is, both in-laws and friends have said to use my magnifiers, but I keep having to explain to them that visual clarity only happens 17 inches from my face. That is a loss of 12 inches of my 'close up' vision. To use the table magnifying glasses, I would still have to place the glass arm itself 17 inches from my face. That puts the custom 19 inches plus from my face and subsequently, my hands. While I have a 29 inch reach from chest to object, that is just too far away to try and paint, draw, or detail something. Then there is the issue of the Sakura Micron .005 markers getting harder to come by. I can find sets with 01, or 05, but not the superfine .005. When I was putting the Taraqian tattoo on my Taarna custom (to follow soon), I was miffed because my .005 red was long gone. Had to use a larger .01 but did get to nail it on a clear day.

During the "clear" hours (which are not on any schedule by any means), I try and get as much done as possible. Doesn't always work out the way I want, but sometimes I get close.

Been giving thought to using my old Crowquill "dip n scratch' artist pens for these things. Crowquill pens have a much finer tip and line than even these Japanese Micron pens. I used to use them when I was practicing scrimshaw in the long ago. Might see what happens.

But yeah, D's gals are the living end. Each and every one are masterpieces. When you hold one in your hand, you can't help but see how great the work is on them.
