Well, hopefully these are three "D"s that will be a WELCOME addition to the world of GI Joe!

(get it? 3D? cause of the movi- nevermind)

First up:

Darklon!

Next, from POWERS:

Detective Deena Pilgrim!

and finally, a figure I've wanted for a long, long time:

David Dunn from Unbreakable!

Please be sure to click through and check them all out on my site. I always post part recipes there, and you can see all three modular looks I made for David Dunn!

David Dunn is awesome. Perfect execution.

Darklon is tough becuase I love that body but I'm not sold that it fits that character. That is probably a personal nitpick more than anything about your work.

As a big Powers fan I like seeing Deena. The problem here is that if you didn't tell me who she was I wouldn't know. The hair doesn't have that spikey look to it.

Valid points for sure. I think Deena's recognizable can really only be helped if I tackle a Christian Walker figure. They're both pretty plain designs if they're not done in the illustrated style, but as a pair I think they'd be more identifiable.

As for Darklon, yeah, this is heavily tweaked to my tastes. I was re-reading the file card, and the "distant cousin" line and the mention of his castle in the alps got me thinking. The Alps go through a lot of countries, and Scotland isn't one of 'em... so I was thinking perhaps there's a Germanic counterpart or offshoot to the McCullen clan. Maybe there was a conflict of interests in WW2, with MARS/McCullen in the UK and Darklon's branch connected to Germany. And maybe Darklon's ancestor saw the war as a chance to make a grab for MARS and its power. Defeated though, MARS reincorporates the German family/branch, but not without a lot of bad blood and dishonor. In a "keep your friends close and enemies closer move," the head of the Darklon family is pledged to the head of MARS as a bodyguard, a relationship the current Destro and Darklon have inherited. So my Darklon has that heavy fascist influence, even more so than the usual Iron Grenadier look, where as my Destro is better depicted with suits or his IG uniform for any military look.

Is the Willis head the one that came on the BBI Paratrooper? I used to use that for my old versions of Knighthawk. I always saw the potential of the Willis resemblance, and used one for that too. But having seen the Slayer Willis head in action, I think that might put this that much further over the top.

The chick is not a character I know, but she looks great as just a civilian or cop, or any other similar use too.

always dig seeing new work from you.

I think you could sculpt her hair to mimic the comic art a lot closer. That would go a long way.

This!!!

Although I can't help but wonder if you will swap the head out with the Colton head once the Retaliation figs hit (unless they pull them for 3D conv..sigh..forget it :-/ ). Very nice work on these totally nailed it!!!! I love that movie. Easily Shyamalan's best, and it still stands as one of my favorite superhero movies.

Really nice work on Dunn and I can dig where you were going with Darklon, but his colors scream "Cobra" at me rather than Iron Grenadiers. Paint the blue black and I'm sold.
