The problem is, I'm not that good at small electronics, especially battery powered, so trying to figure out how to get everything working on one battery pack is the charm. Also the molded in Lights on the shell, also happen to be the screw hold ends. So using the mold's lights is a no go with out taking away the durability of it as a toy.

The interior hasn't been touched yet, I only planned to add a dock for either a Ferret sized vehicle, or a cycle of some kind.

Here's what I'd like to accomplish still.

1) one red LED light in cargo hold
2) one red LED light in cockpit area
3) Both wings, and tail marker lights installed using flashing LEDs
4) One solid super bright LED for landing light by front gear
5) Swap gear for more accurate $$$$

Things I realized are not gonna happen:
1) Motorized ramp (actuators that size$$$, reduced room in cargo area
2) working gear ( again not enough room on the model, without sacrificing interior
3) Re-mold front window ( maybe a possibility, but I'm not good enough to make it sucessful.)

Other questions:

Black? Grey? what's a better color?
Nose art? or tail art? I already but a pin-up on the tail, but I'm not sold.

It's great with the propellers going.
You can buy pre wired LED sets on Ebay for RC aircraft and cars, and they usually just have a 9V battery supply terminal wired on.
I recently scratchbuilt a dropship with ten white LEDs(Interior lights, "dashboard", and "headlamps" on the wings), and a 6-LED system for the blinkie nav lights. I augmented those with superbright LED-Flashlights in the engine exhausts.
Here's a vid of them in action.

You can't go wrong with dark green. I like grey too. Tail art for the the group the C-130 is attached to (GI Joe) and then nose art for this specific plane or crew (based on whatever code name you end up giving this vehicle).

I usually search ebay for "R/C LED kit" or substitute "set" for "kit".
It may seem expensive, but these people do all the soldering with resistors and such like, and all you have to do is fir the set to your application, and plug in a battery. I usually chop the positive lead on the battery terminal and wire in my own switch later when i know exactly where the system is going to be fitted.
Here are some examples i just found during a search.

Know anywhere to buy the micro switches? i definitely need a bunch of those. Getting tired of using momentary. or two touch activation buttons stolen from other projects.

I'd just google "electronic micro switch" and see if you get any local hits.

This lot seem promising:

Excellent. It's always great to find a good source for parts you need often in builds.
Looking forward to seeing them in action

Try that link. They have solid and flashing LEDs that run on batteries and all the switches and stuff you need to do what you want to do.
