For my initial foray into casting, I decided to go cheap, only local purchased suppliers, no smooth on or micro mark, etc...

After some rough starts, I think I have finally found a workable technique, and am getting some progress.

First up, my E-nihilator squad. Evac-Anihilators, Destro's Space technicians and boarding troops.
I have always wanted to do something with all of these StarCORPS guys, and this is it. I have always wanted a small cadre of space forces, not just confined to Astro Vipers, Star Vipers, and TARGATs are just "passing through." These guys man the shuttles that deploy TARGATS, maintain the sattelite constelations, and man any instalations (to which we neither confirm or deny the existence of). They are currently working with a Cobranaught (Astro-Viper)

Some initial base coats and a quick visor coat is all I have done so for, I still have some sanding and detail work to go, and some more needs to come off the neckball to make it a better fit, but wanted to get some quick results up.

More LBC to follow.
R

So what did you use? They look like they came out pretty good.

My next batch will be white for these guys, and black for another mold I am doing.

This is what I used, available at your local michaels craft stores

Dude those are GREAT! I'm a sucker for clear plastic. Was it hard to get smooth bubble fee casts?

We don't have a Michaels, I wonder if the local craft place has something similar.

Man those came out nice... I wonder what it would look like to paint the whole head EXCEPT for the visor... could create a sort of cool effect...

I may have to watch for this stuff...

I was thinking paint the whole head except the visor in red and then coat over that in black so the red would only be visible through the visor.

I think that would look sweet! Maybe.

THey are not tottaly bubble free. the painted ones have lots of small bubbles. but my later attempts, I used a dental pick to tease all the bubbles to the top. thsi stuff has a long pot life, so I can let it sit for a few hours, then go in and fish the bubbles out.

Well, I decanted my second batch of casts. I attempted a dye this time which both worked and did not work. it added color, but dulled it down.

I have never had a V1 Nulliffier, and while I love the TARGAT, I always wanted that "Lurch" effect that the comics and filecards portrayed them of having. I think using these new sculpt Corps bodies with the heads provide that. The TARGAT is a Funskool head on there, not a cast, as I have had no luck with my TARGAT head casts yet. The Nullifier Head is a Spytroops mask on a dremeled down Corps head/neckpost, cast.

The bodies also lend themselves to SW, and so I did a quick Commando head Cast, a GTG commondo helmet on a dremeld down corps head cast. I think it will look better with some paint on it.

And my favorite figure of all time is the Corps Laser Force Lars lazer. I have a bit over a dozen,a dn will always take more. But I also have a bunch of Justin Case and Full Proof bodies, so I figured I will cast some heads to fill out my ranks.

I also tried sticking them on the new sculpt Corps guys, and I think they need some work (like a neck!) before they will work, but my goal is to cast about 50 of these and flesh out my Lars Lazer Army.

My overall intent is to cast and paint heads to match the bodies, hence the LBC protion of this.

I have been eyeing the clear casting stuff for awhile but wasn't sure what it would look like. Now I know. For a few more dollars you can get Amazing Mold Putty. It will save you time from applying multipule layers of laytex. Just a suggestion.
