Thanks for the feedback, fellas.

I know Ollie's legs are a little thinner than Fate's, but I'm not sure I see the "too skinny" thing.

It's possible that the feet I used added a smooch too much length. I'll have to look closer/harder at that and fix it if so.

Seriously - I have that EXACT SAME recipe (with a different head) on my workbench with the first coat of paint drying. I'd been trying to work a cloth cape for mine, but with no luck, so when I got an extra Warlock cape, I put it all together and tossed it on the "paint tomorrow" pile. I mean - really - I have the Sentry belt on mine and everything.

Heh! Guess I should've warned you when I did my Vulcan mind meld trick on you in the 2010 JCA Dio Show that the connection was permanent.

;)

You'll have to wait an hour or so to find that out, but I can promise it will be a "cool" one.

Okay, so here's another that's been a WIP for quite some time and represents a much needed shift away from Batman's rogues gallery to help populate my growing DC verse with more diversely evil baddies:

Captain Cold is the unholy offspring of an MU Doc Strange torso and arms and a couple of Marvel Legends Showdown figures (actually used some of each figure from the Mr. Fantastic/Mole Man 2-pack). The hands are MU Bullseye's and the feet are modified from MU Taskmaster and the fur trim was cut from a 25th Snow Serpent. The hood is from a Clone Wars cold weather Obi Wan, the collar is cut from sheet vinyl and the belt/holster is a melding of MU Cyclops' and RoC Storm Shadow's waist gear.

The paint isn't fully dry, so his pistol (also a Storm Shadow accessory) is just loosely sitting in the holster right now. It will sit much more flush to the leg when I'm less worried about color transfer.

What do you guys think?

I'm continuing my alter egos project with a couple of rich boys:

Bruce is a MIB figure from the waist up and a Wolverine: Origins Sabretooth arse and thighs with RoC Cobta Commander's lower legs and feet. The head is a painted up Doc Venom.

Ollie is a heavily doctored comic pack Hawk head on a modified A-Team Face figure with Shipwreck feet and Doc Venom hands.

I also shortened Green Arrow's legs by a skooch to address the issue raised earlier with him.

What do you guys think?

Very nice as the scale and look are the perfect alter ego counterparts! Well done!

Awesome sculpt work on Ollie's beard. And Bruce looks pretty good as well - the leg swap makes the MIB torso look a lot less stubby and bulky (my biggest problem with those figs.) LOVE that Batman, though.

Wow Spin not there is any competition or anything but have realy given Iron Will a run for his money with your D.C. customs. Again not to try and compare but you and Will have really owned D.C. with your customs. Different styles but all very factory and very playable. Iwould go broke trying to collect them all.

Great Work, very clean.

That would make for a great four pack.

So I mentioned in Chief's Kilowog thread that I'd done some work on my SDCC Kyle Rayner to try and bring him into the right scale for my DC verse.

Here's how that went:
Attachment:

The new lower legs added considerable height (about a third of an inch). But, as you can see in the pic below, he's still on the quite short side for a grownup:
Attachment:

That's why I've decided to play him as a teenager. He's Hal's eventual replacement, but for now he's like a squire to the Emerald Knight. Here he is with my Tim Drake Robin (about 10-12 in this incarnation) and my Dick Grayson Nightwing (whom I play as between 20-22):

I figure his height places Kyle between 15-17. I gave him slightly longer lower arms to balance his proportions better and shaved down his armpits so he could rest his arms at his sides and look a little less musclebound.

Thoughts?

You were right - he's not nearly as bulky as I anticipated now that he's got the new limbs. I think his shoulders might still be a tad wide and his abs a bit ripped for somebody "his age", but it's not that big of an issue. Definitely has that "teen gymnast" build - and that works really well here. Shaving down the pits was a good idea here - makes everything flow very smoothly.

A suggestion on Robin, though - I used a DCIH Batman for mine - and it seems like the perfect size for a 15yr-old Tim Drake. The arms have the scallops on the gloves, and it's a much leaner-looking body. Unless you're going for an 8-10yr old Robin, in which case I'll shut the hell up ;-)

More awesome stuff, Spinny!

So I've always wanted a Riddler figure for my DC verse, and I've always been pretty sure how I wanted to do it. Just never got around to it until recently:

Here he is getting his clock cleaned by my all-new Batman custom:

While the new Batman looks a lot like my most recent one, I was never quite satisfied with the cape because it limited his movement, and I had permanently affixed it in place. This one has interchangeable capes.

One for action...

And one for brooding...

Here's a look at the mechanism I use to swap them out:

So what do you guys think?
