I'm guessing IMDB is wrong in this case, an all-too-common occurrence (just ask Will Ryan).

From what I've read, they wanted Slaughter, but because WWE has a contract with Mattel, this couldn't happen.

Isn't the Rock a wrestler in WWF? I should be happy that Slaughter wasn't in the movie since he is really a wrestler, not an actor. I would hate to be him though after the cartoon series since I bet a lot of weirdos come to his matches booing him for Cobra, dressing as the commander or other members of Cobra.
