Not sold on the hat for him. If you can paint him for real like the photoshop, I think you have a winner.

I really like that look for Han. Much prefer the black t-shirt.

I like the darker t shirt too. Maybe throw a Nerf Herders band pic on it. I'm alao not sold in the hat. A head set or pilot helmet would be more fitting. Even then I don't think you need it.

The 'shop version is pretty cool.
I'll join the no hat camp.

Will you give him a Mauser to replace his blaster?

I agree, no hat. Combined with your Chewie WIP, this will be a great setup.

Well in fact, it doesn't show in the pictures, but i've put a scope on a colt, it's pretty funky and more "modern" ;-)

I like where you are headed.

I did a joe-construction Han in the past, based on his Bespin outfit which was always my favorite figure as a kid. But what started as a plan to make him contemporary really ended up as a pretty faithful version of Bespin Han just with joeticulation.

I say that in part just so that you might consider just how different to make his look here. Too much of an homage to the original look, and he's just an articulated Star Wars dude. Not enough homage, and he's just a Joe with a Han head. It's a fine line. I'm not even suggesting that you're doing anything other than balancing it really well. Just something to keep in mind with each choice.

Hi drbindy,

thanks for your comments. That's always the challenge with this. Han Solo's outfit is pretty lame, pants, shirt and vest. I'm still thinking of what i could do to make him in something other than a SW figure with more articulation

A couple things I think you can do to make him a little different than just a Han head on a body with white shirt and a vest. Think outside the box, instead of a reg vest, how about a tactical vest? Or instead of a shirt and vest, look for a good torso that has a sculpted vest over a shirt, something like that, if painted right could still give off a hint of Han, with out just being a rip off of Han.

Maybe give him an alternate winter coat, to hint at the Hoth Han(or better yet, maybe after you get the "falcon" done, have one hanging inside on the wall), or go a little ballsy and give him some sort of camo-trench coat like in Jedi.

That's a great suggestion. Using, for example, the tac vest from the Renegades Duke with the Endor trench.
