I've been meaning to posts this for a while, since I haven't seen anyone talk about this.

This was on the Mike Power's (The Atomic Man) dossier

It's written fan fiction even if it's an official publication of a business. Why couldn't they? That's a cool easter egg.

I saw it and thought it was very cool. You know what that means? Brock Samson is in the AT universe too which brings Chief's version of AT one step closer to happening.

Add in the bit about doing work for OSI and showing a bionic leg in the pic... cool bio.

It's a pretty cool background.

Anything they write like this has to be approved by Hasbro though. If Hasbro approves it, then it's official canon.

Hasbro ate Kenner who had the Six Million Dollar Man license.
Could they still have it? If so, it would be cool to have Steve Austin as part of the Joe team like they did with Matt Trakker (another Kenner property).

well thank goodness Hasbro approved it. Time Warner owns what 35% of Hasbro so they might let their ownership of the Questverse slide for the time being.

but seriously the stuff Hasbro approves being canon is ludicrous. since Joe gets a new launch or tie in every couple of years. This little bio is fan wank, just like the modern comics and file cards with collectors name on them. take what you want and run with it has always been what made GI Joe fun. Canon is for religious types and people that take nerd stuff too seriously.

I wouldn't downplay what the club is doing with AT as just "fan wank." The way they are handling it has been great imo. I liked when 12" Joe made his first appearance in the Marvel comic. Prior to that, I didn't think the original G.I.Joe could fit in with the 3 3/4" characters. Likewise, I didn't really see a way that the other releases of vintage 12" Joes could be integrated.

But reading this stuff has changed my mind. I can really see how they are treating each 12" release as a specific person, with bios that make sense of the names they had. I don't really feel like those bios are trying to reinvent those toys into something they weren't. They are just taking what was there and running with it. They definitely made me want a lot more club AT stuff.

I think what is more important than it being canon is the fact that it is finally creating a bond between eras of G.I.Joe that previously did not mesh well together. I appreciate the new outlook on that stuff that they are giving me.
