Either the quality of the newer Marvel Universe figures is just getting better and better, or I'm getting lazier - because I haven't felt the need to "fix" the factory figures like I used to. Once upon a time, I had to mod just about every figure I pulled out of the package in order to get it where I wanted it. Now - not so much.

That said, I did slap some paint on a couple of them (we'll just call them "variants") and did a decent amount of modding to another.

These are the three figures in question:

Beast was just a quick mod to get rid of the "X" and add a blue wash to bring out the details in his fur - nothing major, but I'm calling him a "Secret Avengers variant" - which, based on his torso sculpt, I'm sure we'll get down the road, anyway.

She-Hulk required some more work than Beast, but it had to be done. Like Tex said - this is the version we SHOULD have gotten in the comic pack.

For Bill, I had to chop the shoulder pads off his crappy plastic cape, glue them to his shoulders, then affix a soft-goods cape to finish the job. May go back and "weather" him up a bit just so his skin doesn't look quite so plastic. Also have to tweak the wings on his helmet some, as they were warped coming out of the package.

My "Annihilators" team so far - working on a Quasar and a Rom: Spaceknight to help round out the team. Also the chick Rom from the comics (Icon?)

Fantastic 4 and some change...

Secret Avengers so far (hoping Hasbro makes a Valkyrie so I don't have to.)

Cheers!

Love it all. Sad that I'm having to pack up my "LASER BLAST" soon, because there is a ton if inspiration to be found here. Jealous to have not got a She-Hulk yet too. But every mod you've made in this thread has been a huge improvement, whether subtle or not.

So... Is She Hulk the same torso as every other MU female, and just gets her height from longer legs? :-/

These are great, btw. I also hope for a Valkyrie.

Nope - She-Hulk's an all-new sculpt all the way around. I even tried putting "normal" legs on her (for a Wonder Woman custom) and they don't fit well at all without some serious modding.

Thanks, everyone!

This is all really good stuff, but She Hulk is inspirational for me. Totally want to do that.

Also very impressed by your de-iced Iceman. Not sure if I've seen it before, but I've been thinking about doing something similar for a while.

Care to share the formula?

Bobby's just a comic pack Spidey (the on that came with Sentry) with an Evolutions(?) Anakin Skywalker head and Arctic Destro freeze effects.

Man I am emvious on so many levels those are too many cool customs for one man to have.

Now that I have stopped crying....very cool mods across the board and your team up are just Hasbro needs to produce.

I missed my shot at getting She-Hulk so it looks like I'll have to make one.

Sweet collection
