I have a few vehicles I want to weather up, so I just googled images of what I was looking for.

Just looked up 'mud on tires' and got a ton of results.

Oh, brown paint.

That would be too easy. What kind of customising "GOD" are you.

Does it show how to do it?

When I have done such things, I would use a medium sized hard bristle flat brush, and after laying out some acrylic paint in two browns (an umber and a sepia with a rough mix) I just dab it on the tires, keeping it heavy at the tread and getting a lighter application at the hub. But that is just the first step. The next thing to remember when muddying up tires is to angle some mud in a swipe pattern at a 45 degree angle on the chasis to show the mud that gets on the vehicle when the tires accelerate.

I did this with a VAMP, and to add more than just the painted on feel, I ground up some earth toned pastel sticks, brushed on some mod podge int he desired location on the body of the vehicle, where the tires would have been splatting the mud, like Cap said, then sprinkled on the ground up pastel bits into the brushed on glue. Some I left as is, some I painted over in the same paint color as I was using throughout.

The fun part about this kind of work is that there's really no way to do it wrong, unless you just dip the whole thing in a bucket of paint, which would be a problem. Experiment and have fun. If the paint didn't go on right the first time, wipe it off before it dries and try again.

Thanks every one. I'm gonna try Caps suggestion on my ninja striker and Dr Bindys on my vamp and try to post them. And may the vengeful Lance Sputnik give me strength to succeed.
