I've done some minor surgery to Kang, to more fully realize the fig's potential, imho. I took these pics with my new phone, after an aborted trip to go show Liftoff, so apologies if they suck.

I cracked his chest and filed down the glue seams all around the abdomen. I glued the belt in place with a drop at the small of the back and above the pubic bone to allow flexure at the sides. I cut about 1mm out of the front tunic flap hanging below the belt. I've filed down the fugly flares at the knees. It just doesn't work aesthetically or mechanically, imho.

The major bit of work is to straighten and shorten the calves. He doesn't need superhuman proportions as he's what Tom Strong would call a science villain.

I took the arms apart and filed down all the contact surfaces. I cut offbthe 2mm or so of the clothing point at the rear armpit on the hindarm. It frees up the bicep swivel a few more degrees to the outside.

Great looking figure. Hope to see him at retail one day.

Here's a pic of him with the War Planets/Shadow Raiders 'Beast' planet. He'll need a techno throne in there for it to be his Timeship. Any suggestions, anybody?

Once I have a Kang in hand, I'll be better able to tell what you did here and how it compares.

Great idea for the time ship, though.

Most of the surgery was done to the legs, which are essentially the Cmdr /Cyke legs. The calves across nearly every MU are too long, imho, and I do this calf-shortening on nearly all of them. Try it on some other Cmdr/Chief Buck and see.

Does the Beast Planet grab-claw still work? You could attach the throne to the front of it, sans phalanges, and he could dramatically emerge from the center of the ship.

Unfortunately, I took the whole grab-claw assembly a few years ago. I was regretting it from the moment I thought of using it.

I have totally stolen the Beast Planet idea, that is just too good an idea not to pirate. I'm going to try to scratch build a Kang though. I've got this massive parts bin, it ought to be good for something!

Can anyone link to some pics of Kang in that Madame Web Chair?
