I don't know what the reference pic here is... a poster? A comic cover? I couldn't find any info... but I wanted to make a custom of it since I first saw it. When the Retaliation wave 1 Snake Eyes came out I could tell it was based on the pic... so I tweaked it and viola!

Yeah, I thought the same thing when this came out. The VvV Snakes came close (for the time, anyway), but the new Retaliation one was a definite homage. Awesome job tweaking him to match.

I'd love to see the visor in more of a dull gunmetal color thn silver. Otherwise it's a winner.

Replace the top straps on his rig, and add a knife to the right strap. Then you'll nail it.

Looks good though.

I am with the doctor on the visor, but very nice piece. Really like the Arashikage marking.

It's a knife on his right strap, not a background handrail, as you pointed out elsewhere. Notice the hilt, or guard, and the obvious shape to the handle and blade.

Dammit. I liked it just fine until the one eyed wonder pointed this out. Maybe not accurate, but I agree it fits the mood more.

The shape of the handle is exactly what made me look even closer at the pic. The handle would be far too thin. Find a bigger pic on the web zoom in and lighten it. You will see. I went in search of other reference pics. Couldn't find a lot, but it's definitely NOT a knife.

I think it is supposed to be a knife, just poorly drawn. There is nothing else it could be and make sense. But the custom and the statue prove it isn't necessary at all.

In the pic you provided, it IS a knife. It's laying flat, so the handle is thinner from our POV. The statue pic doesn't have it, but I chalk that up to the artist's interpretation of the artwork.

Also, if the shape were actually a handrail, it's placement in the pic is very peculiar since it lines up perfectly with SE's strap. And the winning evidence is - where oh where does the handrail go behind SE's head? The open stairwell is clearly visible continuing behind him.

I agree on the handrail not showing behind his head, but not on the handle POV. It's just too thin. Regardless, I'm not worried about adding it to the figure. I will be repainting the visor, as that is bugging me too. Think I'm also gonna repaint his belt.

Hey, no biggie. I was just trying to help with a detail I thought you missed. And not all knives have big round handles anyway, contrary to what Hasbro gives us due to the hands being sculpted with large grips.

Does the custom need the knife - no. It looks good as is.
