plastic is swirled around the mold then dumped leaving a coating to the sides of the mold...which after it hardens pops right out...so its hollow like a hoth trench base is or any other playset i can think of just not as crisp...

as for photos of the bottom... both of these.... the woodland and the arctic have gone out as x-mas presents for my niece and nephew and I wont make another one till i get a bid or some one buys one some other way...sorry
