* What logo was on Dr. Link Talbot?

* Why wasn't this character given a proper codename? Was there any special meaning to the name used?

I have no idea about the logo, but I think "Link" was originally intended to be the character's code name. If so, I'm guessing that Nintendo wasn't ready to give up the trademark/copyright.

The original t-shirt logo was the 2003 Navy Kung-Fu Championships with an eagle holding an anchor in the middle surrounded by a chain and the lettering. A really detailed and impressive design actually. I'm guessing it was his participation shirt from when he was in the Navy and was a Martial Arts Champion as the filecard hints at.

And IIRC, the Valor vs. Venom movie plays Dr. Lincoln Talbot out as a former soldier who had taken a civilian life as a vet. He is called upon by GI Joe to assist with the animals Cobra is taking. I don't think he was intended as a member of GI Joe so he never was given a real codename, just a shortened version of his real name. And as an animal doctor Link is play on the connection between human and animal maybe.

I figure after the second figure got a GI Joe t-shirt he must have remained with the team and was given membership. He became a battlefield medic and serves as the Ninja Force medic assisting with hostage rescues. His background in martial arts gives him an edge when they face trouble and his medic skills come in to play when stabilizing tortured hostages and with injuries to his team.

I toyed with calling him Dr. Doolittle or something like Dr. Doesmuch...just to play off the vet aspect.

I didn't put a lot into thinking about it.... :D
