Heheh. Hey I'd LOVE to find a production level modern Steam Roller.
Sometimes you've gotta work with what you've got.

Some are less than inspiring... but some are great and can make excellent Custom Fodder.

What about that Steam-Roller is modern exactly? He looks like a standard o-ring-type figure to me.

What Lance said. It's from the 2000 era which is still referred to as "modern," more specifically... not ARAH and not vintage.

You mean the ARAHC/New Sculpt era? Modern usually refers to current figures beginning with the 25th line. I've never seen it applied to anything else.

Doesn't mean it hasn't been.

It gets used mostly (in my experience) as short hand when dealing with O-RING preproduction. Obviously if you're looking at something non-O-ring it speaks for itself. You don't really need to say modern or vintage because it is obvious what it is and what era it is from. But sometimes at first glance an unpainted test shot that is o-ring can raise the question over whether it is ARAH or later. Sometimes it is really obvious when a test shot is "modern" (post-ARAH). Sometimes not so much.

So yes, when referring to production level figures you could buy at retail, modern is pretty "specific" to 25th and up.

But when it comes to preproduction... the line is kinda drawn between ARAH and ANYTHING that came after. And retains the vocabulary as vintage (ARAH) vs modern (post-ARAH).

That's interesting. I don't pay much attention anymore to ARAH-type stuff so wasn't aware of that.

That Muskrat proto looks sad. It's like he knows everybody is looking at his freak hand.
