Nice! I'm just a duffer compared to you. Since you're using solidworks, are you in engineering by trade? That's a pricey package for a hobby. Do you plan on sharing your model files? That would be nice to print out.

Mark,
Thanks man, and yes I'm a design engineer for many years now. As you know 3D prototypes have been around many years and they have been very expensive but with the latest technology in 3D printing it is becoming feasible for personal use.
I will supply .stl files of each part to anyone who request them at no cost. I enjoy opening the hobby up to new possibilities.
Watch out Hasbro if you won't make, I will.

Thanks again,

Thanks so much! I'll be pm'ing you for the stl files next week probably. Funny thing is, I ordered a new batch of plastic the other day without seeing your final product, and I already yellow.

As far as SketchUp, it's pretty good for hobbyists or beginners. Some pros use the professional version, too, so while not as polished as Autodesk products or Solidworks, it does a good job.

Almost done!
Still have to cast the clear bubble, add the light sticker, slide out computer console and swing out maps in the rear.

This thing just keeps getting better. Can't wait to see the back-end completed.

If you need help with the molds or casting for the canopy, let me know. I'd be glad to help out. This is pretty dang cool!

Kicking myself for not taking advantage of my Solidworks access when I had it. I'll have to see if my new job will let use use the software on our own time or not. Only because I work there, and I'd be very curious to see what it'd run, you might submit it to ProtoLabs. Quotes are free I believe. I'm guessing due to the size it'd be pricey ( and design for moldability is a beast unto itself) but I'm curious nonetheless.

I like your project and seeing it come to life, but to me it seems just a tad small, it might be the pics, i thought that the back of the vehicle would fit figures to sit comfortably ?
