So I'm working on a few of this guy. I really liked the PoC Cobra Commander, but he's never going to be Cobra Commander for me (especially with that Ultimate one coming up. So, I had to figure out a use for them. The ceremonial looking flag thing, and the crimson color put me in the mind of these guys.

I didn't want to use the coat, so I tried to find some arms that fit with the look of the torso. The IM2 Mark V seemed like a good bet.

I'm still kind of undecided on the legs, and of course the reds will match when it's done. I'm going to stick with the silver, more in keeping with the CG theme. I'm definitely open to suggestions on the rest, especially before I put more time in, the arms are a pain to mod for Joe torsos, so I want something I'm not going to want to change once I get 5 of 'em done.

Looking good so far. Not sure whether you should keep the thighs or go with something armored (like Zartan or somebody.)

How much of a pain was it to mod the IM arms to fit in the sockets? I like the way those look together, and may try that upper body combo with all of my leftover CC torsos.

I'll take a pic of the kludge when I get a chance. I had to dremel the longer angled peg down on the IM arms, drill a pilot hole, and then I just used some small screws and washers to compensate for the missing discs on the shoulder joints. Not super simple, but it should be durable enough, and it only kind of makes me want to kill something when I try to do it, so I'll take it. The trick with the upper legs will be finding ones that work with the lowers, the sockets and holes on the IM lowers are funky.

I think you can stick with those thighs if you can come up with some sort of skirt or waist cape to wrap around the lower body. That would give it a regal quality without being a full coat or cloak.

Chief, here's some pics of the arm mods.

I dremeled off the peg and used a pin vise to make a pilot hole for the screw. The biggest pain is getting everything square.

After that it's just a screw and a washer. I'll probably glue the screw in to the arm once I have everything ready for final assembly.

Now that idea, I like.

Couple concepts along those lines . . .

Not sure if I'd want to go with or without the sword if I used the Resolute CC skirt, I do like how the CC cape works, though I'll probably go black with it. Think it gives the figure a bit of bulk and makes what "clothing" it does have look less out of place. Thoughts?

I like the second skirt. But both setups really bring that figure to life

The Resolute skirt and cape works really well together. I think leaving the sword on the skirt would depend on the function of the character and what you'll be arming them with. Are these strictly ceremonial guards or combat ready types? If they are more ceremonial than action oriented then I'd keep the sword. If they serve as more of CC's elite muscle then I say lose the sword.
