Han Solo used a hydro SPANNER to fix the Falcon. Does that count?

It's been tried, but to generally disappointing results due to the poor sculpting of the original piece. Frankly, it might be cheaper and certainly less frustrating to commission some custom sculpts.

I've used it several times- with really good results. If you're talking 1:18th to 1:6th, I don't think it's worth it.

I've used it with mixed results. I was trying to get some 1/32 parts up to 1:18 scale. I found that cost wise it's cheaper to use 3d Modeling and Shapeways.
