April is a dull time at work. It's our new fiscal year and no one has any projects for us until the funding clears.

When I get bored, I tend to customize, out of whatever is at hand.

So I turned this:

He's fully articulated, using the push pins as ball joints. His articulation is mostly based on the one used for a Stikfas, with a few tweaks. He's got 25 points of articulation, but until I glue the pins in, he's pretty fragile with the limbs coming off pretty easily at the pin points. Longer pins would be better for the longer limbs, but once I glue them in it will be significantly better.

This guy was just a test to see how to ball joint articulate a figure. I think in subsequent ones, I will shape down the buck to be more rounded and less blocky to increase the range of movement.

In the mean time, I am keeping him as is to prove that you really can make toys out of anything.

This may be my favorite custom all year. Great use of parts and imagination.

Oh, and fun fact - these pins were to be used to pinpoint nuclear strikes, radiation and related issues on a map by our emergency management group before the new computer systems came in, and this stuff was supposed to be tracked by maps on a board.

So foam man has some history. :-D

Super-Visor.

As someone who regularly uses work hours to fiddle around with my own projects, I wholeheartedly approve of this custom.

This guy is awesome! I love the body language you can get from him. I for one am glad you do not work in a zoo or on a farm where you have a very large access to animal dung, cause Dung-man would have been kind of scary.

I work for the Ministry of Agriculture, dude.

If I need dung - I can get dung. :rotfl:

But foam is better to work with, and easier to display.

looking on toy forums always makes me feel even more like white trash than i normally feel. when im at work i am working my ass off nonstop for a starting wage of $7 an hour im 40 and have never had a job where i even had access to a computer. im always amazed when i see people posting from work because they are bored, damn my life sucks.

With your writing skill, the creative nature of the project, and some already awesome built in jokes (at least for customizers) this could totally be the start of a weekly comic
