I decided to breathe some new life into an old vehicle. Thanks to Latin Joe from JoeCanuck.com, I picked up a Wolverine for a great price at Toycon last weekend. The first thing I did when I got home was take it apart, clean it and paint it. Just for kicks and giggles, I threw together a Sunbow style Cover Girl to go with it. I plan to swap out the head for something better, I'm not crazy about the 25th Scarlett head for this, but it will do for now.

Enjoy!

That would look great next to a Mauler.

Despite it being another of those "roast your head like a marshmallow if it fired" tanks, I've always loved the lines of this one.

Thanks man. It's just a quick and simple repaint, but sometimes, I like these kinds of projects as much as super complex ones. I've always wondered why Hasbro has never repainted their early vehicles and battle stations in desert colors like they did with the VAMP.

I like it for the most part, but the neck on covergirl seems a bit long, and I hate the lower arms being painted.

I really like these. And I'm glad you resisted any urges you may have had to "dirty up" the wolverine or use slightly-different colors for the hatches/details. It looks like you pulled it out of a box in 1983 and put the decals on it. It's beautiful.

The painted lower arms are okay. It's a good example of working within the parameters of what's available. It's a solid way to downplay the Lady Jaye-ness arms, which is difficult because of the rolled up sleeves.

Thanks guys. I was going for directly out of the box feel and wanted something to sit next to my 25th VAMP II, tan Whirlwind and the other desert vehicles and figures that I made last year during my ''Project Retro'':

About the lower arms, they are not RoC CG arms, they are swapped with Renegades Scarlett, so they do have a couple of little wrinkles, just not enough to like like jacket sleeves. Unfortunately, the only female lower arms that have that look are PP Baroness, as far as I know (and I don't have spares right now). When I revisit Cover Girl's head, I'll take another look at the sleeves as well.

Simple? But very clean and well executed. The Wolverine looks like it came that way, brand new.
