Fantastic work. I've always loved the idea of Hasbro's planned train, and this is even cooler. If I ever have the space to display such a piece I'd love to attempt to put something like this together, but it won't be anywhere as awesome as this.

The cannon mounted to it is my favorite part, but the two drivers are are right behind it!

Why oh why didn't you do this for the Declassified contest? Your work on this is astounding. Like 100% flawless. Well done indeed.

I would assume that he did not participate in the Declassified contest because if he won it would have been a major loss. The winner was required to forfeit their custom to Declassified so Declassified could sell it. He has hundreds of dollars plus his time tied up in this. Reward just would not have covered the cost. Vehicles in general were not worth entering just due to the cost of time factor alone.

Thanks guys.

I heard about the contest very late in the game and like Dremel says, I couldn't part with this thing now that I'm finished building it. (Even though, there is no guarantee that I would have won, there were a lot of excellent entries in that contest.)

Bucky, if I make the trip for the next con (fingers crossed that they have it somewhere in the northeast, come on MASS, NY, VT, RI, CT!), I would love to set it up on the JC table if there is room.

That is fantastic. I've wanted a note scale train for some time now and seeing one done is just great. I just don't know if this makes me want to try or if it makes me think to not even bother.

OB - please do submit this for the gallery when you find the time. It's the only way to be eligible for the year end JC Awards. That, and, this thing needs to be displayed in as many different venues (real or digital) as possible. Our gallery would be better for this being in it.

Yes, please. Like everyone else has already said, and like everyone else who ever sees this will say, it's fantastic. You nailed it on every level: the decision to undertake such a big project, the patience to see it through, and the work itself. I've always admired that tiny, grainy picture of the proposed train, and I like what you did with yours even better: the individual cars have more play value and function. The figures are great, too; pretty ingenious uses of parts in both cases. This is a mortal lock for the best vehicle custom of the year; if something comes along that tops it, I'd love to see it. Stunning customizing.

When I first saw this a few days ago, I just shook my head in disbelief that it's "just" a custom. As always, your touch with vehicles is unparalleled, and the clean paints scream "early 'Joe!" You reworked some of the early vehicles a few months back and they made me feel like a kid who just opened a box in 1983. Same feeling, bigger box.

And now, allow me to beg one favor of you... make alternate ARAH versions of the crew.
