amazing job! i totally dig this!

really like the original characters too! they fit in well with the mid 80's...already borrowed railspike and made one the other night, and going to make a hi-railer too. what did you use for the hats on both?

An impressive piece and excellent show of dedication to finally finish it off.

Like a few others have previously commented, I'd love to see it loaded down with Vintage ARAH figures...

Also, I think you should sub a Mass Device in place of the Cannon.

Lastly I just did a couple Photoshop mock ups of what I think could be effective LBCs of your two wonderful opperators....

The more I think about it, you really could have quite a crew for this. I could easily see at least a ten person rail crew dedicated to the operation of the train.

I love the train and so do my kids. We all want one now. I have never thought of looking at the Playmobile train, just never crossed my mind. How does the figure look in the cab? Or is it too tight to fit one in?

Thanks! The figures fit pretty well sitting down. They don't fit standing up. Check out the new pics, the last one shows what I mean.

I can't afford a Play School custom train but this has inspired me to start picking up all the old Christmas Train sets I see at the yard sales and thrifts and use those for a base. The scale is very similar to the Play School (both are really much smaller then 1:18 but that is very common with Joe vehicles and where would you put it if it was closer to scale) but I will have to tear them down to the frame and rebuild them. Big project but guess I will start collecting trains. LOL
