Ok I had all of my Collection in storage for two years while I was on the road Contracting. I had several figures in bags that I could not find when I finally moved into my place I have now. I finally found them today after months of looking..

Anyone else Have this problem whe you know you put certain things in a box but could not find them while in storage or after you move?

Every single time I move. They'll show up the next time I'm packing to move, though. But then several OTHER items will disappear into the same void they were originally lost in.

I still haven't found my carded JoeCon Rowdy Roddy Piper after my last move. Hopefully he'll turn up somewhere, but I'm starting to have my doubts.

I guess I have been fortunate in that I have only moved twice since I started collecting in 1995. The first move my collection was small so it was hard to lose anything. The second wasn't so small but I managed to have a pretty successful move, I don't remember losing anything. That was 10 years ago though. If I to move today, it would probably be a different story.

I've only moved once since I really got into collecting, and I moved every last action figure MYSELF. As I recall, nothing went missing.

That was twenty years ago. I dread the prospect of moving. Twenty years more of action figures, not counting some stuff that has come and gone in the meantime for one reason or another (usually needing the money more than the toys but still kicking myself for having to sell them).

I hate thinking about any of this...

When i moved one of the plastic bins got crushed and a corner broke in transit. As soon as I saw it I started moving everything in them into different bins. Unfortunately I didn't mark what went where. Apparently I buried two loose Con sets at the bottom of another tote. Still not sure how I did that but I only found it because I decided to go through every bin no matter what top to bottom. A month later I couldn't find Tundra Stalkers kayak that was also in that bin. I had 3 and I'm afraid they most likely fell out and got lost during the move. Who knows what else was lost.

I don't lose anything when I move. But, I often break something. Over the years I've had Tomahawks, Whales, Rattlers and other vehicles all broken in moves. This last move cost me a few vehicles. But, the worst was the movers grabbed my case of my best figures before I had put them into baggies. (I had planned on moving this myself.) When it got to the new place, all the figs, including tons of brittle foreign releases, had been jostled quite a bit. Fortunately, the only thing I lost was Cutter's crotch. All the rest, including small accessories, were OK.

I was cleaning the garage out last week, and some of the boxes in there were still in the same place we put them when we moved into the house in 2000 (!). I can't believe some of the things I found that I completely forgot about, like my Kenner 12" Luke Skywalker that I got in 1979.

The basement, on the other hand, is a black hole where things disappear and reappear months and years later, usually after I give up looking for it. I have a huge list of things I am still looking for.

Try eight years.
At least noone ransacked your storage. In addition to the years of forgetting, I can't be sure what was sold on eBay before I packed, lost, or destroyed in storage. :-(
I have found quite a few things I didn't remember having, though. Quite a few are, "why do I have this?"

The move before last I had boxed up my small carded collection into a medium sized box. When I was unpacking I couldn't find it anywhere. After searching for weeks I gave up hope and figured it had fallen from the truck somewhere. A couple of months later my wife opened up a biz that was labeled dolls (she collects porcelain dolls). Inside was my moc toys. Not sure if it was a reused box, mislabeled unintentionally, or mislabeled intentionally (my sister in law thinks she's funny) but it didn't matter because my toys were back
