Here's a batch of newish stuff. Please forgive the excessive flash in some of the pics. I can't seem to figure out how to take good pictures these days.

T'jbang - I've wanted to make him for a while and the new Iron Fist figure inspired me to finally get him done. I used W.O. Leroy's recipe for a blueprint on this one, but mine has a different head and gear. I gave him some sai (made by Daremo) because I gather that they most resemble actual Indonesian chabang.

Bushido - Another one pretty much inspired by finding the new Silver Samurai head.

Image

Image

Hack - While I'm posting ninjas I'll include this super lazy one, meant as a partner for Slash. I picture him as a stylish, effeminate youth with a real cruel streak.

White Mortal - Here's another paintless quickie.

Hypno Hustler's recent post of MOTU guys inspired me to post mine here. I just did these guys after finding some extras at Big Lots.

Baron Blackthorn - I imagine this guy as a rough-hewn Marcher Lord sort of character who guards the borderlands of Randor's kingdom.

Image

Havoc Man - Basically just Battle Armor Skeletor and The Faceless One bashed together with a bit of paint on the head.

Digging the use of the buster sword for Hack. Good stuff all around.

Very innovative stuff. I've always wanted to try to make T' Jbang more palatable, but it never occurred to me to make the yellow into gold. Seems like a no brainer now. I really hate Bushido as a character (a samurai name Goldstein, right...), but I do like how you winterized him.

Using a CC head for White Mortal is a neat idea. Has a weird shape to it, but works well in a LBC capacity.

This. A pretty clever usage. Especially with the goggles.

The Joe customs all look great, especially T'Jbang.

I like both MotUC customs, nicely done.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what direction to go with T'jbang at first. Looking at some other folks' versions led me to go the gold route. I was going to make Bushido a bit more realistic too but ended up being pretty faithful to the goofy original. I'm trying to rework his head to make him a little scarier. I can't figure out how to rationalize a group called Ninja Force all being white guys from NYC. At least they're not fascinated with pizza.

It's one of the kids from the Narnia line. Not sure which one.

Stellar work on everything. I do feel T'Jbang needs to do away with the "superhero blank eyes" and get the minor tiger striping his original headwrap had, but that's a minor gripe. I'm seriously considering borrowing elements of this for my own T'Jbang. Bushido looks awesome too, really love how you managed to intergrate the snow aspect of his bio into his look.

Yeah, I have a hard time rationalizing that too. That's sort of why I just imagine they're all actually native Japanese who were drafted directly from the remnants of the Arashikage clan into GI Joe's Ninja Force, using falsified American-born profiles to allow them to serve.

I like Bushido and T'Jbang quite a bit, but I'd totally digging that Blackthorn MOTU custom. He just looks so 80's villainish. It works perfectly.

It bothered me too, but then I thought about it some.

1. We know that the various Arashikage masters were willing to train foreigners.

2. After the Clan fell into disarray when the Hard Master died both Storm Shadow and the Soft Master ended up in NYC, and the Blind Master and Jinx wound up in Denver. That puts a lot of Arashikage talent in the US.

3. When we first meet Ninja Force, they're hanging out in the basement of Soft Master's bodega.

All that lets me rationalize it as a bunch of youths, possibly along the lines of the kid that "sold" Soft Master his Uzi who he saw something in and started training before he was killed.

Your mileage may vary though.

As to the customs, I love that vest for T'Jbang, stealing that. I think I'd like it better with the straps lengthened though, so his belly isn't showing. Hack is a great LBC. Now I actually want that Storm Shadow.

Digging both MOTUC figures (while still being jealous that you found any at all at Big Lots) great use of the Weapons Pak Beast Man gear. Havoc Man is cool, but the Skeletor head on his staff undercuts his menace. Unless you're going for goofy.

Great stuff all 'round.

I did try the tiger stripes on his mask but honestly I just couldn't get it right and decided to move on. Glad you like Bushido. Hitting on the Snow Serpent body made the project click for me.

I like your thoughts on Ninja Force. And really, I'm fine with Cobra La, so a Jewish samurai isn't that big of a deal. ;) I think I kinda am going for a mix of goofy and menacing with Havoc Man. I wanted the figure to suggest that Skeletor just had a REALLY bad day. I've only found MOTUC at one Big Lots out of four in my area but I'm going to keep checking. I wasn't going to do any customizing with MOTU but with fodder that cheap, why not?

If your Targets still have any, I've found the Dark Knight Returns Batman for around ten, and he's built on the MOTUC buck too. . .

Looking forward to what you've got next man.
