As a kid, one of the last O-Ring Joes I owned was Zandar. My guess is because I never played with him. I never could get around what I saw as a dopey appearance that even a decent filecard couldn't save. To that end, and like many others before me, I've done what I could to legitimize him a little bit with the following.

Zandar, tired of being forgotten by even his closest compatriots, decided to strike out on his own. As a freelance agent for good, he has become quite handy at computer hacking, and silent infiltration. He can hack into even the most secure mainframes, and has adapted his ability to never leaving a mark to becoming the ghost in the machine. He still isn't remembered by many, but those that do, value his abilities, and he now finds himself on a team of other agents for hire. Ready, willing, and able to leave his mark.

Parts:
Zandar v2 head and harpoon gun
Shipwreck v16 body
Zartan v21 quiver
Snake-Eyes v59 vest
GI Joe Trooper v2A knives and sheath

Really dig what you've done, matching that grey vest in with those grey pants!

Man, it's funny you should say that. I didn't even CONSIDER the vest at first. I was just sittin on my porch, strummin my banjo and staring at it. The head was clearly too big for the body, but I wasn't sure what to do different. Then it hit me like Johnny Thunder. I should contact that wise friend of mine. He's a little strange like one of those MP3 players that were out before the iPod, but he generally gives sage advice. The exchange went something like this.

Me: So, Ive got this custom, and I dont think it's finished.
Beyonder: If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it. .billy.

And I realized he was telling me that I should give him a vest. It was kismet that I had a spare DG SE vest and that it fit so perfectly.

I think I'd like to see him with some sort of silenced rifle rather than a yellow spear gun, but those are matters of taste.

Otherwise I think he works pretty well.

I hear you. I tried giving him a crossbow, but it looked odd in his hands. The silenced rifle was my next choice, but then I looked at the vintage figure and thought it looked like a spear gun.

i've had a spare zandar head laying around trying to come up with a use for it....and i think you nailed it. it keeps the feel of zandar with out the club kid on amateur stripper night feel of the original.

It is a spear gun. But since you were improving all the other aspects of the character, I thought you might want to clean that one up too. :-D

Hmmm the sweater seems off somehow to me, it kind of works for Zandar but at the same time it kind of doesn't. The webgear helps alot though. But those loose hanging trouser legs are inappropriate... He doesn't need the knee-high boots again or whatever but at least pants tucked into combat boots, like RoC SE lower legs or PoC Firefly lowers.
