Hey, Turner-

I think it was Dark Woman on the first Vanessa I did. From a comic 2 pack with the Tusken Raider Jedi.

The new one was ScarJo Black Widow.

The cut down necks on the masks look great. Been trying to figure out how to cut it down without destroying it, those necks are thin on the sculpt.

Thanks man! I had the names mixed up :)

On Gloria's mask I cut it horizontally at the top of the neck and removed some. Then I cut the flare in half and just used the front. Used green stuff for the back half of the flare and neck.

I cut/thinned down the actual figure necks too to get them to fit into the masks.

Thanks for the comments man!

Now that I've posted them, I want to change the color on Gloria's pants for one thing. And oddly enough, I had Vanessa's hair with the black patch (no white), took pics and then thought it was supposed to have a white part. So, I painted the white and retook the pics, only to discover it was supposed to be all black.

As I'm also going through the ranks of MASK/VENOM (and Eagle Force/RIOT), I really respect the time and effort you're putting into making these look 99% like the original source figures. I can't imagine even trying to get that close to the mark.

I go for the broad strokes, with some re-imagining. Technically, what I do is the "easy way out". You are meticulously recreating the original figures in a larger scale, but with better articulation and spectacular painting than the source figures. It's hard to explain just how impressive these figures are.

Sometimes I wonder if painting toys is just a geeky hobby, which of course it is, but sometimes it's really art. That's what these figures are, turner. Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

Man, I appreciate the compliments. It is staggering just how much time it takes, even just getting the parts together can take awhile not to mention green stuff and painting. And of course there are usually some aspects that are beyond my ability, and the Lord makes a way. I know this hobby of mine is a silly little thing, but I'm grateful that He would allow and help me even in something so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
