I noticed a well made GI Joe Adventure Team custom on another site in the last 24-48 hrs. . While i personally wasn't all that excited about the theme (again it was well made) i asked myself " Would i have wanted something like this as a child?" and the truth is ... i'm not sure. I recall having wind up scuba divers in the tub as a wee lad. VERY wee.

I dont recall owning anything even remotely as "non aligned" as a scuba diver or race car driver after age 4-5 yrs old. Every toy line i had had a clear good guy vs bad guy set up. Did the adventure team have *any* enemies? Would a child really want a mountain climber , scuba diver or jeep driver as a stand alone action figure?

I know the old Fisher Price line (Rescue Heroes) was successful without any enemies (that i recall) but the aesthetic was different (happy faces with big appealing smiles). I don't know if you can pull that off with a 4 '' modern joe .

The original AT did not have bad guys from 1972-1975. In 1976, the Intruders were introduced. They were highly intelligent alien's that looked like cavemen :-D

More recently, though, the GI Joe club has set up MARS and Black Dragon as AT foes, attempting to tie in the AT with RAH.
