Wow...that really is beautiful. That's some really precise work on the styrene panels; it's not easy to get such a close fit (most people are content to get within range and then fill it with Bondo or whatever), but you really nailed it, and the end result looks smoother for it. It's the added elements that really make it work, though: the missile rack and the detail panels are particularly nice. Outstanding stuff.

yeah, flat bottom boats like this tend to do alright in the water with just their plastic weight but what I learned about making more of a V bottom or a deeper hull I have found that you typically have to weight them down. My first DRAKE took about a quarter of a BB canister in ballast. The DRAKE I am currently building has a bit higher center of gravity and has taken nearly half of the BB container to sink it low enough to float level.

since a lot of people questioned the front cockpit and based on Freakintiger's story I had this idea: a harpoon ;-)

WOW! That is a fantastic construction! The harpoon is cool and reminds me of how a lot of Hasbro designs featured a "big turret gun". It might've been neat to put a hatch where the Grizzly panel is kinda like the Moray has. Not really useful for anything, but it could give the appearance of more internal detail. I love how you used the Cobra stand symbol, rather than just a sticker, too.

I think maybe a nice access panel for that area could look cool.

I also always thought the RoC Eel missile launcher was a neat If you cap off the end it would probably look a bit better.

OOOoooooo... I like that paint job. The snake skin detailing is what makes it pop. Really well done.

What method did you use to paint the snake skin detailing?

Fishnet stockings. Very cool. I know Python Viper here used some sports jerseys. Never thought about using fishnets though. I'll have to keep that in mind if I decide to do something like this.

problem with fishnets is that it's so thin that you need to make sure that it's really flat on the surface which is difficult to do when you have all kind of shapes.

At work we have this plastic shelf liner. When you lay it flat it makes the same design as in the pic. I've thought of using that stuff to make PP colors.
