I'm starting to organize my collection room/cave and am starting with my Metroplex dio. I've got a couple ideas how I'm thinking about going with it and would like some thoughts and opinions before I commit to anything. The scene I have in my head is a big concrete base with the battle on it, then the walls of the case covered with backdrops of hills and sky type stuff to give it the 'alien base on Earth' look. But I'm not sure if I'm really committed to that or not.

Sorry the pics are a bit dark or have the flash showing. I had to turn the light over the case off because it was glaring too much.

First up, the overall case:

I have more figures to add to it. One of the things I'm really debating on is whether or not to put a shelf in toward the top to display G1 Metroplex along with my WST collection as sort of a comparison thing.

This is the reason I'm not sure I want to do the G1 comparison. Metroplex is HUGE, there's just no way around it. In city form, he barely fits in the display case. In fact, I can't put him in full city mode in the case, because his legs only fit if they're kept parallel to each other, instead of the angled form they're supposed to have. Also, if I do the second shelf for the G1 Metroplex, it'll either have to be just a bit more than half the length of the display case, or too close to the top for him to fit, because of the guns on the back of new Metroplex. I've got Ultra Magnus commanding the city and Cosmos acting as the head gunner. Scamper is manning the arm cannon.

Image
Here you can see Bumblebee and Smokescreen in the foreground, and Jazz and Jetfire in the background. You can also see that I haven't affixed the grey scrapbooking sheets that I'm using for a concrete/dull metal look, as the edges are curling some. I'm actually wanting opinions on this: Do you like that look, or should I go with some grass or desert scenery, with maybe some features such as hills to give it a more dynamic look?

Image
A shot of some of the Autobots fighting Decepticons. Swoop is hanging out on the ground right now, but once I decide on how to utilize the space above, he'll be suspend somehow to appear to be flying. I like these small Cyberverse and Legends figures overall, and the more jagged, rough look of the Beast Hunters Predacons (such as Cindersaur and the Abominus crew) just adds to the dichotomy of Autobots trying to blend in on Earth while Decepticons want to conquer it.

Image
The Dinobots fighting an off-color, scaled down KO Devastator. I'm not sure if I want to repaint him to be his G1 colors or consider him good enough as-is. Again, Swoop is just chilling until he gets to fly. Just behind them, you see Cindersaur, about to attack Hound; just past him is Starscream blasting Prowl. Megatron can be seen to the right. If I can find the new Legends Megatron and Starscream, they'll replace these two, and Legends OP with Roller will replace the DG Optimus.

Thanks for looking, and any/all feedback welcome.

Those Dinobots bring back some good memories. And that Metroplex is HUGE. I had no idea it was that big.

Yeah, I was thinking about displaying him in robot form, but I would have had to have braced him somehow, and I'm not sure he would have fit in the case. Plus, this way, I have more options for displaying other figures with him. Now if they come out with a gigantic Trypticon...
