The Joes...

My go to Flint has been the Resolute version, he's a great looking figure, but lacks the classic look of black shirt, camo trousers and shotgun shell bandolier webgear. We got two 25th versions, but of which kinda sucked, one had the dreaded "Duke Arms," the other had a bad head sculpt and limited articulation in the arms. I had to carve out his cargo pocket on the right thigh for the holster to work.

Rest of figure is Sgt. Stone

Figuring I'll never find a variant version of SDCC Sgt. Slaughter at a decent price, I decided to make my own. The tan on the camo is a bit lighter than I'd have liked, but otherwise I think it looks good. Now to build him a Triple T...

Legs are RoC Heavy Duty

I, like almost everyone, was not too keen on the 25th Gung Ho. I did like the RoC version that has his look from Resolute and with a head swap from Slayer (thanks for the awesome paint bcost), I thought I had a great looking GH. Jay pointed out that he is kind of scrawny looking for GH and I agreed. I swapped out his arms for those of Mindbender. He looked right, but was still too small, actually a bit short. GH should be one of the bigger men in the unit, not quite as big as Roadblock, but bigger than most, so I tried to find a good figure. Not wanting to use Road Pig as that would put him as big as RB, I went with the first Rock figure. Unfortunately the custom head is too small for this figure, so I opted to use Rock's, just scraping away the facial hair and paining on a thicker mustache. This is still a WIP and I need to find an appropriate looking Marine Corps cover or figure out how to mod Night Fox's cap. The RoC versions arm looks funny because when I glued the torso back together, some glue got in the area where the arm goes and I was spinning the arm to keep it from setting in place, but the glue set fast and the shoulder held in place and the arm almost spun off the shoulder peg. Damn you Jay.

Whole figure is Rock version one

The non-Joes...

The Punisher has always been my favorite comic character and I wanted to incorporate him into my Joe-verse beside using a Marvel figure, so I made this simple custom. I'd have liked if his arms were a bit more muscular, but I'm happy with it.

Body is Snake Eyes v54
Head from Firefly
Vest from Renegades Ripcord

Another character from a different 'verse I wanted to involve in my Joe-verse is my favorite SW character, Wedge Antillies. Since SW figures are smaller than Joes, it wouldn't look right to use a SW figure, so I made one. I'm planning on painting up a Conquest X-30 for him once I can find a 25th version

Helmet is from Tomahawk
Head is Aqua Viper
Holster belt from Ramapage
Leg straps from Ace
That thing around the upper part of his right boot is made up of a section ammo-belt with part of the leg carved away to make it fit right.
Everything else is Renegades Airtight

I really like wedge, and am planning to outright steal some elements.
I have been working on a joe based X-wing pilot for a while now, and you really nailed some of the elements I have been struggling with.

My other fave is Flint. Very nice and classic.

That Wedge is cool and I'm not even a SW guy.

I like it but,
I'm not sold on the pastel look of the paints. I think they need some shading.
I like the mustache

It's the skin tone that throws me. I'm so used to picturing him as this really pale white guy that the tanner version throws me.

That being said I'm still going to steal the idea for my own.
