Went to TRU before food shopping and the Mrs got the cool Swamp gal for Monster High, and I noticed that all Hobbit was 50% off so I finally got the Mirkwood Heroes pack for the Thranduil. It is much better at $14.99 than the original price it was.

Went to tru on the off chance maybe they'd restock something besides wave 1 roadblock. Fat chance. Looking around at other stuff, I noticed a price tag for 2.00. It said gi joe....
Thee was a black VTOL there. No way I thought, so I scanned it.

2.00!

I grabbed the one, thinking it was a steal, started walking around. Then I thought maybe they have more. They did on the overstock! Borrowed the ladder, hobbled up there on a bum foot, and helped myself to the last three.

Not a bad day. I never find crazy good deals like that.

I stopped at Target after work and found a few things

-2x Playskool Marvel Super Hero Mud Stormin' 4x4 http://www.hasbro.com/marvel/en_US/shop ... DC77:en_US
-1x Playskool Marvel Super Hero Rescue Jet http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/marvel-sup ... d-iron-man
-2x Target Exclusive Superman movie 5-pack http://www.target.com/p/superman-man-of ... A-14468923

Everything was just over $6 each.

I think I will utilize the Rescue Jet along the lines of the Starfleet Worker Bee shuttle. Maybe call it the 'Remora' or similar name, and use it as a new one man GIJOE submersible.

As for the Mud Stormin' 4x4s, seeing them in the store reminded me of the Sears exclusive Dreadnok set, so I think I will try and find paint colors to get a similar feel.

I might grab a couple more sets of the Superman 5-packs. Several of those heads could be modded with beards and facial hair, or hats, or different hair styles.

Is that picture out of scale for some reason, or is one figure really about 1.5 times the size of everyone else? What's the deal with the huge guy?

He's huge, some form of mutant Kryptonian giant.

I also got the Mirkwood set yesterday.
It doesn't look like we will be getting any of the other figures in the line. :(

Stopped by Big Lots today. They've gotten in a shipment of the Heroclix TabApp figures that I used for the heads of my DKR Catwoman and Bane ( viewtopic.php?f=14&t=39818 ). I wanted to let people know, because I got a lot of questions about where to find them. They're also a ton cheaper at BL...$2.50 for the three pack (I paid like $14, grumble). I picked up two more packs. They also have a Marvel one, but it's just super cartoony Cap, Thor, and Ironman.

Also, BTW, TJ Maxx has the giant SW battle droid carrier on clearance for $59. Good price, but still can't think of a use for it.

My Mother traveled out to Southern Illinois on 12/20 to spend Christmas with my Brother and his family. She came back through Pennsylvania before getting back to NY this past Friday.

With her decidedly out of town, we did not get to celebrate Christmas here in NY. She took out the presents we were giving to my Brother and his family.

After I got home from work tonight, we sat down and opened our presents.

I got:

-Kobalt 8 in 1 Stainless Steel Multipurpose Tool
-Teeny Turner mini screwdriver w/bits http://www.frys.com/product/5272097?sou ... OgodsjsAxQ
-99 piece Bit Set http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.a ... 17&p=70158
-6 pair Caterpillar socks and micro fleece hat set
-Kobalt 38 in 1 Double Drive Stubby Ratchet Screwdriver http://www.lowes.com/pd_501838-16878-63 ... d=50074265
-Corn Shell Bean Bag (for nuking in microwave and applying to head for migraines or for muscles pains)
-Haynes Manual Klingon Bird of Prey book
-Haynes Manual Death Star book
-Solo by William Boyd (the newest James Bond hardcover book)
-Star Wars The Clone Wars Incredible Vehicles book
-Thunderbirds Movie X-Ray Cross-Sections http://amzn.com/0199112495

My Mom also brought to NY from my Brother:

-Hallmark Yoda Ornament
-$40 Wal-Mart gift card

Not too shabby.

I finally found the Spidey Marvel Legends Carnage figure yesterday. It is perfection. Probably the best Legends figure Hasbro has made.

I also found some cool Hot Wheels at KMart for 74 cents. Yay, sales.

Recently I've gotten a few things.

I got a package from Patrick A. Riley with some ARAH fodder.

Got some Remco figures from Jason's Joes and More, along with a package from him just handed to me.

The best thing I got was a book I never thought I was going to obtain.

It is called 'The James Bond Archives' and it is quite simply, one hell of a book.

Amazon has it for over $130. http://amzn.com/3836521059

I had someone who was looking to get some older Mack Bolan paperbacks. He wanted 36 of the ones I had.

We got talking and I realized he had been the seller of an eBay auction I had won for some other James Bond reference books. He told me he had some other James Bond books for sale.

I ended up sending him the 36 books, along with $50 for the Jame Bond Archives book. So, for a book that sold for $200, I got for $50, $5 for the books, and $10 for shipping the books.

$65 for a 15 pound James Bond film book filled with awesomeness is a definite high point.

Went to a toy mart and got a Legacy Bail Organa, a Tatooine Biggs Darlighter and a Saga Naboo soldier. I then hit up Ebay for another two Legacy Bail Organas, two Schleich Huskies, and Jbyrrd helped me out with an Ebay.com auction for a Playmobil sextant and dog sled.
